We’ll need a keeper, right sided centre back, right winger and a forward imo.

and that’s if nobody leaves.

I think we’ll be looking at kluivert, Jacob Ramsey, DCL & the winger from Celtic as well as the likes of Trafford, Guehi, Mbuemo etc. we’ve got to be very clever with what we have spend wise and I think we will be.

Why would we be looking at Jacob Ramsay?

He can't even get in the Villa team, and to me plays like Willock mk 2.

Villa could well have PSR issues , Howe likes him and we need another midfielder, especially if longstaff or Willock go.

I haven’t seen enough of Ramsey to know tbh but I know we tried for him 12 months or so ago.

also, depends which version of Willock you’re talking about. If he’s a mk 2 of the one we saw two years ago, we could do with one of those.

What LW options are available and realistic?

Like could Howe view Gordon / Barnes as a RW options and so it opens up LW as a buy? Which I would then be looking at Jamie Gittens.

No, I don’t think so

None realistic as we have 2 perfectly good players in that position.

I’m not saying they wouldn’t be good signings, but the money they would cost wouldn’t be clever business.

He hasn’t viewed them as RW options this season so don’t see why that would change.

Do think if we could get Trafford / Guehi for £60m-£65m that would be superb business. Even more so if they were wrapped up by end of June.

Then can leave circa £80m-£100m (depending who we can move on and how much we want to push things this summer) to sign RW / ST / CM. Which feels more than enough because they’re positions you can pick up good value.

While I understand the desire for "clever" business, I'm more concerned that we do good business.

I want good players, whatever it takes to get them.

Mind, it can't be helped to look at the 70m Brentford would likely want for Mbuemo and think that Bournemouth signed Kluivert (similarish profile) for 13m or look at Huijsen for 50m, when the same club signed him for 15m or whatever.

I just think we have to be careful in being distracted by bargain signings, which carry more risk.

Id like the RW and CB positions to be proven, as much as proven can be, beyond that I'd like us to be "clever".

For example, ive suggested Madueke a few times but I wouldn't want Madueke at Mbuemos price (60m), I'd want Madueke for 15m lower than that.

The whole point in suggesting it is because i think Chelsea are mental. They'd happily take 45m pure profit for Madueke and sign 4 RWs to replace him.  Most other clubs just don't operate the way they do.

I'm really hopeful that we are going to big shark someone before the PSR deadline, it's just hard to work out exactly who is vulnerable or who is available. I feel like this could throw up some bizarre scenarios.

Could we convince someone to take a player off us like Forest did with Vlach?

Rashford's lost that fire in his belly. It's all about the lifestyle for him now, imo. Once he leaves Man Utd he'll basically retire from the top level of football.

Be amazed if he doesn't end up in the US.

What kind of Graeme Souness shite is this?

When I saw speculation that West Ham may have been one of the teams in pre-July PSR bother I invented a scenario in my head where we buy Kudus for £45m and they buy Wilson for £15m

Newcastle PTSD says we'd end up signing Wes Foderingham 😂

I think if you get those in then both Wilson and Vlachodimos could leave without any issues.

The truth that's what.

Yeah i think some people misunderstand the viewpoints of the likes of Keane and Souness when they always refer to "character" and "body language" etc. It's because while both were excellent players in their own right, the reason why they were successful was because of an unbelievable drive that they both had.

When talking about Newcastle, I'd not pay any attention to Souness/Keane, when talking about the tactical nuances of the modern game, id not pay attention to Souness/Keane but when it comes to body language, attitude, professionalism, standards, leadership the pair of them are about as informed as it gets.

So in reference to Rashford, they'd be absolutely spot on. His attitude, his body language, his behaviour is horrific.

I've heard a few people say "how come he gets shit for going to the boxing, but not others" but those people are entirely missing the point. He's absolutely allowed to go to the boxing but when a player has a reputation for missing training, reporting late for matches, indifferent form and caring more about his social media reputation, it doesn't help going to the front row of the boxing after getting another "injury" for his loan club, especially when there are rumours of him wanting to be available for England, over the side actually paying his wages.

When a club like Newcastle had someone like Micheal Owen, you'd think we'd have more experiance of these kind of nobheads. Rashford is a footballing virus.

Enciso anyone?

Only 21 and I'd imagine would be ideal for Eddie to nurture.

Fails the no dickheads rule if his recent appearance at SJP was anything to go by.

So weird I was watching MOTD and thinking someone is getting a player. I feel like he's flaky though.

I think the no dickhead rule isn't about players being shithouses on the pitch. Otherwise our whole squad fails that rule.
