Think it's the first season he's spoken so openly about having money to spend/PSR not being an issue with spending power. I'm not against it as it does create a bit of buzz and shows some commitment to moving upwards. But it does bring up the whole issue of why Howe has always kept these things on the quiet, we don't want other clubs whacking the prices up when they know we have the money. Maybe the big deals are already all but done 🤷🏻♂️

Kid Icarus
That article that summarises what the journalist was saying This Friday, La Grada Radio brought in a prominent voice to address one of the most worrying topics for Espanyol fans: the future of Joan García . Journalist Ángel García, known on social media as Cazurreando and a nationally renowned source of market information and renowned for his exceptional accuracy, appeared on the program to discuss Newcastle 's interest in the Blue and White goalkeeper, which he himself expressed yesterday. According to the information shared, the English club would be willing to pay Joan 's full release clause , set at 25 million euros. A decisive step that would position Newcastle as the leading candidate to secure the Catalan goalkeeper's services, despite the fact that his name has also been linked to other major European clubs, such as FC Barcelona and Arsenal . What's relevant in this case is the source. Ángel García is no ordinary journalist. His track record in advancing market transactions, both in the First Division and in the lower divisions, is extensive and proven. He's usually one step ahead of the rest, and his information is based on direct contacts with people very close to the moves that ultimately materialize. Joan García , who has been one of Espanyol 's pillars this season, has put together high-level performances and has proven he's ready to make the leap to a demanding environment. The Premier League, given his playing style and physical demands, would be a perfect fit for his qualities: security between the sticks, personality, good footwork, and leadership ability in key moments. "The information I'm receiving is quite reliable from the source; if not, I wouldn't be so involved," he made clear on La Grada Radio , aware of the impact of talking about a player from the First Division and not from his usual environment. "I don't know if he's signed or pending, but everything is very much on track," he added. Ángel explained that he's been in contact with people who handle direct information from the Premier League, and "no matter how much there was talk about Arsenal and the Top 6, they told me I wasn't going to sign there as a starter." And he made a clear statement: "You go to Newcastle on an equal footing with other goalkeepers, not like at other Top 6 clubs where you started out as a substitute." Aston Villa was also among the options floated, "if they let Dibu leave," but it was Newcastle who took the lead. Even with PSG looming at the last minute, according to the journalist: "I asked people close to Joan himself , and they told me that, despite PSG's interference, he was going to go to England. And after consulting them, I agreed with that authority." Ángel García also made clear the reason for his caution before launching the exclusive: "Making mistakes in the lower divisions, where I consider myself a specialist, doesn't have as much impact as talking about the First Division. That's why I went crazy checking things out beforehand." Regarding Espanyol's transfer market , he was equally clear. He believes Fran Garagarza is preparing for two scenarios, in case the team manages to stay in the league or if relegation is confirmed: "They've looked for players who can adapt to both situations. César Gelabert left yesterday , but he won't be going to the First Division." In his analysis, he also gave a glimpse into what he's seeing in the market: " Salinas seems like a total loser to me." And he added a reflection that has become a classic of modern football: "The economic situation greatly influences the market." Regarding the names the club is considering, he also weighed in: "I brought up Raba 's name a few weeks ago because they like him, but after the season he's had, he'll demand a pretty hefty contract." In short: Joan García is very close to leaving, and according to Ángel García, he would be heading to Newcastle for a significant fee. Meanwhile, Espanyol is quietly working on a transfer market conditioned by his sporting destiny and financial constraints. Sounds really promising. Wonder if he's the 'go big' to Trafford that Isak was to Joao Pedro.

Joelinton7
Joan García, heading to Newcastle?: "Everything is very well organised," warns Ángel García Ángel García points to Newcastle as Joan García's destination: the Premier League, closer and closer for the Espanyol goalkeeper. This Friday, La Grada Ràdio has had a weighty voice to address one of the issues that most worry Spanishism: the future of Joan García. The journalist Ángel García, known on networks as Cazurreando, a national reference in market information and known for his very high level of accuracy, has intervened in the program to talk about Newcastle's interest in the blue-and-white goalkeeper, advanced by himself yesterday. According to the information he has shared, the English club would be willing to pay Joan's full termination clause, set at 25 million euros. A decisive step that would place Newcastle as the main candidate to get the services of the Catalan goalkeeper, despite the fact that his name has also been linked to other great European clubs, such as FC Barcelona or Arsenal. The relevant thing in this case is the source. Ángel García is not just any journalist. Its history of advancing market operations, both in First and lower categories, is broad and contrasted. It is usually one step ahead of the rest, and its information is based on direct contacts with environments very close to the movements that end up being materialised. Joan García, who has been one of the pillars of Espanyol this season, accumulates high-level performances and has shown that he is ready to make the leap to a context of maximum demand. The Premier, by style of play and physical demand, would fit perfectly with his qualities: safety under sticks, personality, good handling with the feet and leadership capacity in key moments. "The information that comes to me is quite reliable by the source, if not, I wouldn't get so wet," he made it clear in La Grada Ràdio, aware of the impact of talking about a Primera player and not about his usual habitat. "I don't know if it's signed or pending signature, but everything is very well organised," he added. Ángel explained that he has been in contact with people who manage direct information from the Premier League, and "no matter how much they talked about Arsenal and the Top 6, they told me that there he was not going to sign as a starter." And with a clear phrase he positioned himself: "You go to Newcastle on an equal footing with other goalkeepers, not like in other Top 6 clubs where you started with the vitola of being a substitute." Among the options that have sounded was also the Aston Villa, "if he let out the Dibu," but it was Newcastle who took advantage. Even with PSG peeking at the last moment, according to the journalist: "I have asked people close to Joan himself and they told me that, despite PSG's intrusion, I was going to go to England. And after consulting it I got wet with that authority.” Ángel García also made clear the reason for his prudence before launching the exclusive: "Schetting up in lower categories, where I consider myself a specialist, does not have as much impact as talking about Primera. That's why I went crazy by contrasting before." About the Espanyol market, it was just as clear. He believes that Fran Garagarza is preparing two scenarios, in case the team achieves permanence or if relegation is consummated: "They have looked for players who can adapt to both contexts. Yesterday César Gelabert left, but he is not going to go in a First Division context." In his analysis, he also left brushstrokes of what he is seeing in the market: "Salinas seems to me a total cucumber." And he added a reflection that is already a classic of modern football: "The economic situation mediatizes the market a lot." About the names that the club handles, he also got wet: "I took out the name of Raba a few weeks ago because they like it, but after the season he has done he will demand a fairly majete contract." In summary: Joan García is very close to leaving, and according to Ángel García, he would go to Newcastle and for a significant amount. And in the meantime, Espanyol silently works a market conditioned by its sporting destination and economic limitations.

MagPar
6 hours ago, Holmesy said: Anyone else not get excited by goalkeeper signings? Honestly, we could be signing Allison and I wouldn't be too bothered. I'm all about outfield players, not goalies. It all starts with a great goalkeeper. Without one, the defence are less confident "I better not fuck up because i don't trust our keeper" and it seeps throughout the team. A really good keeper is essential. I'm still reasonably happy with Pope but if we can get Trafford or someone equally good or better for 20-30 million I'll be happier. Pope would be an excellent 2nd choice.
