NUFC Transfer Rumours

Recommended Posts

I'd honestly have him here for a year or 2. We are going to have a huge number of games and he's reliable enough to come in for a game or 2 to allow us to rotate Bruno, Tonali and Joelinton. No-one's saying he's exceptional or at the peak of his powers but he'd be a smart move imo. He'd never start in your best XI but he'd get plenty of minutes, we need to pad the squad out and on a free it would be a very pragmatic signing

Get the window right and I think we could win the league next season.

We won’t. No matter what we do the squad will still be short of quality in depth. Especially when being in Europe. A decent run in the CL (if we get it) and hopefully making the CL again next time along with doing well domestically in the cups. That would be great progress.

We are willing to sell Longstaff for £10-£12m this summer according to Ronny Gill as in final year of contract

Honestly think that's a brilliant buy for anyone who intends to make him first choice.

Presumably you mean anyone who isn’t trying to do anything beyond staying up?

If he's among the best three CMs at a club then they're probably of that ilk, aye.

Every squad is lacking in depth. Admittedly we lack more than most but if we made 4 signings like we did two seasons ago (2 first team players/two top youngsters) then with a bit of luck, with injuries, we could do it. I'm not saying we will but the other teams are no great shakes and are also screwed if they get key injuries.

Look at our form the the past half season and mental toughness of the team, it's entirely possible.
