They already did that one on pod on the Tyne. They thought it was the funniest thing ever and called him sergeant waughles or something. Caulkin then said something grumpy and the other one said “lovely stuff”. It was ball achingly funny

Still don’t see him picking us over being first choice elsewhere.

You would think it unlikely definitely, but we’ll surely be playing the ‘Eddie Howe turns players into England internationals’ card.

Whether that’s enough to trump a near-guaranteed starting place and an additional X £ p/w, probably not, but you never know.

He won’t be any more first choice elsewhere then at us. No guarantees he starts for Man Utd if Cunha works up top or Hojlund magically clicks in pre season.

We could be playing 50 games or so next season. Isak as we can see now wont play every game..Delap will get plenty of gametime and as mentioned all he needs to do is see how Burn, Livramento,Hall and Gordon have all been capped by England im past 12-18 months

I know it's a relatively small thing in the grand scheme of things but given our propensity to have at least four goalkeepers on the books with two of them training cones it makes absolute sense to make one of them club home grown - even if they're actually fourth choice you can name them as the third choice keeper in Europe and means we can name an extra outfield player in the squad.

The fact we have a few options (Woodman, Krul and Forster all out of contract - Alnwick down L1 with Cardiff and likely nominal fee) makes it seem even more obvious.

Krul is currently building a house just outside Norwich as his 'retirement' home.

He offered his services to NUFC last year when we were in the market for another GK and it was a two horse race but Howe always favoured Ruddy as he's known him years and really likes his character.

A race made even more interesting because Ruddy and Krul are best mates .

Krul thinks he'd struggle with the demands of playing a full season now though so is worried about being number 1 at Luton next season. The current number 1 is leaving afaik. He's on too much money for L1 level.

He'd have jumped at the chance to come back to NUFC.

I think if they sign a starting PL calibre striker like Delap we could well see Barnes move on, Isak becomes an option on the LW then as well and Osula could be cover there also, perhaps even the likes of Sanusi in an emergency. Think an extra CM, RW and CF would give that option. Might mean having the resources to sign an extra FB as the depth there isn't ideal.

Isn’t Krul’s house up in Tranwell Woods still on the market too?

Now sold I believe. Joe Willock was renting it for a while but moved out last year.

I really thought that shit was done with over a year ago.

It was done over a year ago as it's the bones of 2 years since Wilson has been fit and able but he'd be a serviceable option there if Gordon was out and there was another quality striker to lean on, the assist at Everton when he was playing there was one of his best moments in a Newcastle shirt.

Because he's shown he can still be very influential there. If Isak moonlighting at LW every now and then meant having to carry one less specialist LW in the squad and being able to invest in another area of weakness then that's a fair trade IMO, much rather see Isak at LW than Krafth or Targett starting meaningful games for example as not sure Trippier can be relied on for another season.

I don't feel too strongly either way but if they sign a RW as expected and invest a decent sum at CF as well then I think they may look at Barnes as expendable in a PSR world.
