I agree in a lot of ways, will get hammered for this but the day we got took over and we still had Bruce I genuinely said to my dad I’ll be delighted with either Howe, Moyes or Poche. I rate Moyes as a manager and think he’ll be playing most of the time. Obviously want him here but if he chooses them I get it.

Moyes is great, but I would say that as he used to play for Dunfermline.

Terrible decision going to Man Utd just after Fergie though, he should have let another couple of managers fuck it up first.

Makes me laugh every time [emoji38]

Newcastle have a fair amount of food stamps / a lot of full penny jars / have a large Argos voucher / a big bag of shackles / a huge bage of swag to spend in the transfer window.

Any of those better?

We’re not as attractive as Chelsea to a player, and our bench is even less attractive - was there ever anyone who seriously thought Delap was coming here?

Not me,that's for sure.

Jamie Vardy however.........

Mbuemo is in the same category as Delap for me , we simply aren't going to be able to pay the wages they can get at say Man United or Chelsea so it's just not going to happen .

Couldn't you say that about absolutely any player though?

"We won't sign x player because x club can offer more money."

It just seems like an overly negative statement to make. I mean sure we might lose out to these players, in the same we were never signing Tonali, Isak or Bruno.

We are an incredibly attractive club. There's a limit to what we can afford/attract but that's the same for alot of clubs including a certain London Club who think they can have our star striker.

No-one else bid for Isak, Tonali or Bruno

Our transfer window just got even more interesting. With Mitchell and Howe working together, I was expecting a mix of incomings in terms of value.

Will we continue with players around the 40m mark like we have in the past. Do we go for unearthing gems. Will it be a mix?

Eddie's request to be quick in the market, doesn't make sense given how long we fucked about with Guehi. Was that Mitchell?

Guess we'll find out.

Really hard to make sense of what happened last summer.

I reckon that those calling for Vardy to sign weren’t around when we signed Ian Rush :)

Did Red Bull exist back then though? Reckon Rush would've been a different player for us if he could've pounded two of them before a game.

Can we get one of our resident number crunchers like @timeEd32 or @r0cafella in here to tell us what they think we’re able to spend in theory this summer? And maybe some other scenarios like “if we sell Longstaff for £10 million and Willock for £20 million where would we be at”

I haven't done the math in awhile to be honest. Without diving into the details there are definitely a lot more variables to contend with for 24/25 and heading into 25/26 that make this fuzzier than things were last summer.
