Based on what? He's not exactly Yamal.

Based on watching him play. There is a reason a top club will spend £50million+ on him this summer despite bang average stats. He has pace, power, would immediaitely become the best dribbler in the squad. Is direct. Plenty to work on including positioning and turning his skills into creating chances but it is tough when you play for a shocking team to show off such talents. He's not there yet but I don't think there is a more exciting teenager in English football at the moment. If he gets in the right setup, with the right coach, sky is the limit.

Nah, when I meant "based on what?" I meant what are the key skills he has that will make him one of the best footballers in the world. I'm not that bothered if you've watched him or not.

I've no doubt he'll be a decent player, but "world class" is stretching it a bit. World Class is banded around far too much these days.

I’m with Pompey lad, I think he’s extremely gifted. His ability to carry the ball and dribble is outstanding for his age and he also has a lot of strength for his frame. I’d be amazed if he doesn’t become one of the best wide players in the league within three years if he stays injury free

All opinions but Dibling will have a more successful career and reach bigger heights than Mbeumo in my opinion. Mbeumo is a sure thing for now though so I don't know who would be the better option if we had the choice of signing either one tomorrow.

In a none PSR world, I would love to sign both.

I'd sign him, don't get me wrong, but £55m is madness. He'd be a decent replacement for Murphy as backup.

His stats are awful like, admittedly in a terrible team.

I don't particularly want to sign Mbeumo either, but it's all based on who I know we wanted last year

Dibling seems like the sort of player City, Liverpool or Arsenal could go for where they can afford to spend £55m, play him 15-20 games a season for the time being with the plan for him to become more of a regular in a couple of years. If we're spending that much on a player it's for someone established and who we'd see as ready to play regularly at the top of the league.

That's the thing. He doesn't improve us right away, he won't start over Murphy, and for around 40 to 50 million, that's a bad deal.

Mbeumo starts over Murphy, making us better next season.

Dibling's a prospect. For 50 million, I expect someone who makes us better immediately.

Looks like Barca are trying to renew Szczesny and already have Ter Stegen so would probably have to fight for his position there. If we can offer him guaranteed first place it might just tip it in our favour.

I've seen it reported Barca want to sign him and then send him on loan to Valencia for a season (who are losing Mamardashvili to Liverpool).

He might think a couple of years as #1 in the PL/Champions League sets him up to move straight in as #1 at Barca anyway.

Imo there’s no doubt that Mbeumo is a very good player. My only concern regarding him and the money is that he plays for a very transitional team and he’s not exactly great in general play.

We play with quite a lot of transitions ourselves. However, more and more we will play against teams that sit back and try to frustrate us, especially as we evolve and get even better I can only see that happening more  often going forward .

When teams sit back we struggle at times when it comes to variety and unpredictability and become quite easy to read when we often look to take advantage from the wide areas.

Not saying that i wouldn’t be happy with him but I reckon it’s something to keep in mind. Especially if we aren’t looking for a more creative source through the middle. A player that can drag the opposition out of shape to give more space and possibilities to our more direct wide players.

Im hoping Eddie isn’t locked into one style, we definitely need a technician around the 8/10 or RW area. We were piss poor in terms of attacking fluidity against weak team many times this year. Willock isn’t it, an upgrade on his position would be exciting. I’d hope we improve in transition, when it’s on we should be taking advantage. We need more goals from sources other than forcing mistakes.

unpopular opinion clearly but slightly wary on whether Mbeumo will be worth the kind of fee talked about. He obviously improves us but I wouldn't necessarily expect another 20 goal season from him. 5 of them are penalties and then he's outscored his non-penalty xG by double. xG is not the be all and end all but consistently good players don't tend to outscore it by much at all. Prior to this season his hit rate is 1 in every 4.5 PL games which is not really £60m territory.

Feel like outscoring his xg is a positive. Tells me he is a good finisher. Should get more oppurtunities with us.

Wouldn't expect 20 goals by all means. 20 goals+assists maybe.
