Yes please.

Agreed.

They moved him around a fair bit this season, away from that right hand side, and I thought his output suffered for it.

Best time to strike, now the hype isn't as big as it was last season. And so they may not stick to as high a valuation as they had on him previously.

If we can land either Mbeumo or Kudus we're in great shape.

Personally I would prefer Kudus to Mbeumo. I think his playing style would make us more versatile and unpredictable. Better in general play. Would offer us something different.

I’d go Kudus over Mbeumo, and I’m a massive fan of him.

There's some talk that West Ham are up against it PSR wise, and we are showing interest in Kudus.

Did the Kudus talk not originate from Football Insider yesterday?  Given the source I doubt there is anything in it.

The Hardy article is very downbeat. No chance of a “finished article like Guehi” links us to some very underwhelming names like Rudoni and Quansah.

can only hope he’s miles off.

I started to take it with a pinch of salt as soon as I read this at the very start...

Martin Hardy assesses what might happen this summer

I thought, aye he's guessing here before I even started reading.

I thought we were moving fast. What the fucks going on?!

If we're looking at players from PSR hit clubs, those clubs could be trying to offload fringe players or make academy swaps before they sell a player they want to keep. There's still a full month for them to try and make that happen.

Would gladly accept either of them!

Craig Hope reporting a budget of £100m.

Keep in mind he quoted £75m in summer 2023 and a month later we had signed:

Tonali £55m

Barnes £40m

Tino £35m

Minteh £8m

Total £138m

Club aren't going to give budget to any journo imagine how weak negotiations would become.

Think that figure has been bandied around for a couple of months now, him saying it means fuck all really. It's just an educated guess, but probably near enough the ball park figure.

I think the truth in the Hardy article is somewhere in between. To go “big big” we’d probably have to sell a Gordon or Tonali. Sell some fringe players and we’ll be able to bolster the squad well but it will be a mix of a Mbeumo / Guehi established types AND a smattering of lower cost fixer-uppers like Hayden Hackney or Rudoni.

His article was too doom-mongery particularly as we’ve sold and not bought for more or less two years.

Our recent windows have freed up money for a few decent fees but for the established players that elevate instantly there will always be issues competing with wages for the foreseeable future. We’d need to make top 5 year in out for a while which will be difficult.

Yeah its very vague and most likely for clicks. So much more complex than just an x budget these days.

Deal structure comes into play for PSR of course

I feel you do this very often but could you start posting links to this kind of stuff rather than "some talk"

Gonna make a conscious effort to just take all news I can and not bother worrying about whether 'they know nowt man' or not.

Really find the whole 'give us some news ffs!....No not that! They're just guessing!' posting cycle on here canny miserable.
