NUFC Transfer Rumours

Id take Grealish. But city would have to pay half or ideally 2 thirds of his wages over a season long loan with an option to buy (not an ogligation).

Id love to see what Howe could do with him tbh.

I didn't like the jack the lad type of person he appeared sitting on city's bench and slipping away from the England setup pointed to a serious lack of ambition.

But the videos I have seen of his interactions with his sister with cerebal palsy and other disabled fans as a dad with two severely disabled kids I must admit I instantly saw him differently.

No idea what he could offer these days footballing wise but a loan without obligation may not be so bad.

It's a bit dating the guy we told Miggy not to worry about but if he can find his Villa form and we're not paying his wages fuck it.

Must have mistook him for someone that dug out a fellow Premier League winger in front of thousands.

Fuck him.

He just said what everyone would be saying behind closed doors :D Almiron was a joke at that point, then turned clinical on back of it.

Completely different situations aren’t they. Targett when we were desperate, Hall because we couldn’t afford to buy him at the time.

True but we most definately do do loans.

I just don't see how the finances work, unless City think loaning him out to a PL club will re-ignite his value, in the same way Villa did with Rashford but again, City would likely have to pay half the wages too. It just sounds like rubbish paper talk.

Think Man City know that any deal and they’ll probably have to cover £150k-£200k of his wages (if he’s on £300k).

He’s been told to go and won’t be in USA. So it’s best interest for them to just take any offer going early doors instead of prolonging it to end of August for the sake of saving like £2m in wages.

We'll only do loan deals if they're obligations/options to buy of players we really want. Eddie has been quoted in saying this in the past that they're only done as a means to sign players we want permanently.

I don't think we will ever sign a high wage, high age player on a short term loan deal no matter how much people see the logic in it or suggest it. It's just not the way Eddie and the club wants to operate, even if it leaves us short.

I tend to agree with it tbh.

If it's real not saying it is but might be a change of tact from the club as can't buy enough players to bolster the squad to compete in all competitions. While loans aren't what we do it may be an idea worth exploring to help the squad.

Don't think many of us have been against the idea of the odd loan but can see why Howe isn't keen historically.

Isn’t a free roaming, free kick winning possession based Grealish someone we want against teams who sit in a low block? Not that shite robot Pep turned him into.

We always struggle to be creative enough to break those teams down.

Deary me 😂 he is a great player when allowed to express himself.

He seems to be out drinking more since his fall out with pep I'm sure he'd knuckledown with us and sees our professionalism in the ranks.

Could give him a contract with incentives to make up for the lower basic wage.

+1 for taking Grealish on loan if it could be a reasonable purchase fee and he’d drop to our wage structure. He could fit into our midfield 3 like Carsley tried him in when we’re facing low blocks.

£50m seems to be the new £20m = going rate for a very good footballer. Inflation of footballer prices has gone nuts. Another reason PSR is not fit for purpose

Wtf is this shit of wanting to bring in a non-performing 30-year old Jack Graelish 😂

4 goals and 2 assists in his last 2 seasons in PL.

Thats not how we do business anymore.

I doubt we’ll sign him but the idea he’s not a good guy because he likes a drink / some fun is silly. He may have taken the fun too far and ruined his career post-treble, but that doesn’t make him a “dickhead.”

Although I dont want him, I agree that his "reputation" of being a dickhead is wrong. Seems like a nice enough guy who just made a little fool of himself with a drunken comment about Almiron.

Hall wasn't a loan deal in reality.

Targett ok, but it was the first window where we just had to get people in to avoid relegation.

On your first point, a loan with an obligation is still 100% a loan. Agree 100% on your second point.
