NUFC Transfer Rumours

Sorry like, but I've always expected players in before pre-season for years. If they haven't signed by then (especially after a protracted saga) then I'm dubious about their commitment. Got burned by MO and I find it hard to trust anymore :D

Shearer signed on 30 July. Just an example.

Pre seasons begins 7th July so i'd imagine Howe's call for early business would be targeting that date.

3 weeks to go

I guess every club wants signings as early as possible but I can’t remember ever reliably getting our business done by the first week of July.

It's similar across the board to be fair.

Aye I know. I just think it’s counterproductive to be setting up expectations that we basically won’t be met.

And if we can’t be happy with our football club after the season we’ve just had, we never will be.

Is he setting us up for an exclusive where he says a deal is close, but it isn't actually close.

So we are either signing Pedro or some surprise target from Europe.  Good way to hedge your bets I suppose

I really like him. I think he's a very good writer too.

I think I’m fundamentally convinced he cares about the club, city and region. He takes the piss a bit too much and works for an awful paper but my dad worked for their sports desk and from my experience their sports people don’t have the same politics as the paper.

Married into a Geordie family. Clear understands the club, area and fanbase. Just doesn’t suffer fools which there is many in our fanbase
