NUFC Transfer Rumours

Morning to you too Hog, not feeling the need for people to be allowed an alternative view?

The comment is more in relation to squaring off the club’s constant briefing about the “Saudi Tax” and stated desire to build a squad, with simultaneously shopping heavily in the £60m Harrods league of transfer pools.

I back Eddie to get it right with the players he does bring in but I do have a fear that unless we’re *slightly* more creative with squad strengthening, we’re going to run out of puff in December / January again like 23/24 due to spinning the budget wholly on 2-3 players.

Plenty of time in the window yet and hopefully they’ll pull some £25m overseas league wonders out the bag to be the next Bruno’s and Big Joe’s.

P.s - snapped one of your pals this morning on the dog walk - first I’ve seen down this way that hasn’t been mullered on a road:

Be a Mum that hedgehog, more than likely, grabbing some scran before getting back to the brood.

Fair doos on the other, incidental, stuff 😉

Who would people prefer out of Elanga, Kudus and Akliouche?

On the basis I feel Monaco would be asking the same for Akliouche as Forest would for Elanga (circa £50m reportedly), Elanga probably feels like the safer option. Would be very pleased with either though. Kudus looks good too but West Ham are in a position to ask even more given how much they paid for him.

Will all due respect Shadow Puppets you basically lead us down the river last summer regarding Guehi so I don't take anything you say as facts. I'm stating if we are simply targeting just EPL players then the scouting is lazy.

With all due respect, I shared exactly what I was told by people who had first hand information. Guehi WAS telling our players that he was joining imminently. Obviously I don’t have control over negotiations so I can only share what I know.

I really don’t know what to think about Elanga. But I know he runs a lot and is very fast, so presumably out coaching can take him up another level.

I thought nothing of him until I saw that training video. More than happy for us to sign attacking players with g/a stats like his who are also willing to put that much effort in off the pitch.

This is a bit out of order - he doesn't need to share anything on here but I'm glad he does.

I don't see how Guehi is telling our players he's coming when we didn't even agree a fee but okay

It was pretty clear that Guehi was very close to signing for us.

Without us being close to agreeing a fee? I definitely think he was wanting to join. Doesn’t sound like a deal was ever that close though.

I understand both of the sentiments expressed here however I think it's actually very likely a player would say he's going somewhere without it actually happening.

Ultimately the player can believe it as it's what hes been lead to believe by all parties but it still might fall through. I think Trafford would be a prime example of this.

I also wouldn't view @Shadow Puppetsas an itk he's just passing on what he's heard and probably regretting it

Very little to be gained being a NO Exclusive itk tbh.

It does seem that any foreign targets are being quoted at similar prices to the premier league ones.

That’s what I’ve been saying. It’s an absolute myth that foreign markets are cheaper; unless  of course you want to take wild gambles on obscure talents.

Only reason for Kudos being preferred would be it seems he could do a job up front/behind a striker etc.

So preferred we got a RW and someone like Kudos. Does Akliouche only play behind a striker on occasion?

Small tidbits of “news” I heard yesterday. Nothing groundbreaking, but nice to hear it from someone who should know more.

Elanga is absolutely near the top of our list for RW (we’ve tried for him in the last two windows apparently), but we have been talking to West Ham about Kudus and Monaco about one of their wingers too (but can’t remember the name).

Gianluca Prestianni’s name was mentioned (which I think I shared last summer), but he’s very young and seen as a gamble. Been watched a lot though, and potential of that one going further as “one for the future”.

Guehi is absolutely still on the list but we’re facing more competition this time.

"AS Monaco currently has several players who can play on the right wing, including Krépin Diatta, Maghnes Akliouche, and Wilfried Singo. Takumi Minamino can also play on the right, though he is more often used on the left"

It sounded like he thought he was coming and it was just a matter of the details. Sadly we couldn't agree the price with Palace in the end.

It's obviously not a myth like. How Huijsen is like the perfect example of this effect.

Player prices are very much a case by case factor though.
