NUFC Transfer Rumours

I don't think we can afford to let any players leave this window because of the horrific ineptitude of our transfer team.

Well Longstaff and Wilson have gone so that's us screwed... 😅

We had been linked with a few South Americans. We've also recently picked up youngsters from Georgia, Spain, Ireland and South Korea so unless we're just taking random punts I'd say we do have some scouts working out there.

Hopefully, but the center back Forest signed Jair Cunha, 20 y/o, 10 mil, looks an absolute unit, aggressive, smart, great timing, and looks to have that win at all costs mentality. 10 million. Has all the physical tools to make it here. If he does he's worth 50-60, and then we'll be interested.

If a good squad is the level of our competitors in the cartel, we are 7-8 players away from being close. They have 22 good premier league players. Aside from our 11, which doesn't match the cartel clubs, our bench is shocking. Osula, Dubravka, Krafth, Miley, Barnes, Murphy, Botman and Willock (always injured). Some decent backup, but its not very good. Barnes/Gordon are the only top class bench options. No breakthrough youth yet, aside from Miley who we need to become a superstar this year. Mitchell may have been a total wanker how he came in here and start yapping, but he was right about our recruitment not being fit for purpose CURRENTLY. Don't know if he had any solutions

Yes but that isn’t realistic and we have more than competed so far.

New GK/Pope

Tino/Trippier

New CB/Schar

Botman/Burn

Hall/Tino (Krafth then back up RB)

Tonali/Bruno/Joelinton/New CM/Miley/Willock

Gordon/Barnes

Isak (or new)/New ST (Wissa?)/Osula

Elanga/Murphy

That is a much better squad if the new players are of real quality which I think they will be judging by our recruitment to date. Yes I would love a proper LB backup as well and a different CM backup to Willock but if we did the above we can still compete for CL and do well in the cups this year

With that, assuming Isak stays, we may compete to get in Champions league. We'd have to massively overachieve again though, and hope that Joelinton, Botman, Willock are available most of the season. The rich clubs have massively improved. Even Manure are going to be much better it seems. Spurs will be much better under Frank. Arsenal, Liverpool, City, Chelsea, if they play to 80% of the talent in their squads will comfortably secure top 4.

I get this point but at the same time, surely there are only so many points to go around. If all those teams are so brilliant they will obviously beat eachother as well. If 5 teams are now class that also means the top 2 have really hard games to play also.

Every season we point to how nobody will underachieve but a couple normally do. Obviously it could be us, but you know what I’m saying

20 days till the new season starts, you can probably take 8 days off that cos nothing will happen when the team is on tour so we have 12 days to sort out at least 4 transfers which takes us 10 days each.

At the off chance we sign the players we need, it'll likely be very late in the window that we get the deals done. Makes a mockery of what Eddie said before the summer about getting deals done early, but at this point I'll take anything. We just need the players.

Why will nothing happen when they’re on tour?

It's inevitable when we are chasing players that other top clubs are in for. If we lower our standards then we could get players in within a week.

Genuinely think we'll only get one more in now. It'll be Wissa or a similar profile striker, Isak will stay and that'll be that.

We really need a CB. I think we can get by till Jan without the Longstaff replacement.

I'd take Wissa and a CB with Isak staying.

I've got a horrible feeling Isak will go, too late for us to do anything. We tried etc. Had to focus on trying to replace Isak that no time for CB/Kelly/Longstaff/Wilson replacements. But we are monitoring targets for January and considering making approaches, etc. Eugh.

Wissa in Jan for £65,000,000

We can’t let Isak go unless we’ve 2 strikers in. No matter what the offer is surely to god they’ll have something in place before they agree to sell him? Otherwise is shambolic.

Osula, Gordon and Elanga as our striker options 👍👍. Barnes, Murphy, and the Joes playing wing

If he goes than I really, really hope we get Sesko and Wissa

1 player with an elite ceiling (like when we signed Isak)

1 player ready to hit the ground running, 19 non pen goals, great injury record etc etc

24/25  - Isak, Barnes, Gordon, Murphy (Osula and Wilson non existent)

25/26 - Sesko, Wissa, Gordon, Barnes, Elanga, Murphy, Osula

Good options, and probably as good as it gets considering Ekitike got snapped up. I'd say our floor is a lot higher with those options, but are ceiling isn't quite as high as Isak on form is genuinely magic.

Players like Jackson, Watkins etc are too expensive and high profile to not be first choice for us, and I couldn't see us getting one of them as well as a Sesko - Massive backwards step imo

Quite possible that we have a couple of deals teed up which need to wait until we have resolved the striker situation. Wouldn’t be the first time that nobody has known anything until the announcement. (Trying to stop recent disappointment pushing a cloud of lingering pessimism over everything!).
