Ndiaye is a player I like.

Cost £15 million from Marseille after showing flashes previously at Sheffield United in the Prem.

No value in the market though. Small pool of players etc etc etc.

Man that pisses me off. Such a beta mindset.

The truth is there are only a select few who should command really big fees. Our problem last summer was that we paid them for players we could have bought for half the price. You can't look at Bournemouth and Brentford and argue our players look better than theirs despite us chucking millions upon millions at the squad.

It's lazy and a non-elite approach to leave gem-finding almost entirely to other clubs, then rock up 12 months later with a 60m bid when they turn out decent. Some clubs must think we're cucks.

I like Ndiaye but he has less than 10 goal contributions this season, he's hardly shown himself to be the absolute dead cert winger we need. Those are Harvey Barnes having a very bad season numbers.

But in general play he's very good, comfortable on the ball and doesn't lose it all the time like our wingers do

Focusing on the goal contributions is a very dangerous mindset to have, I know we're all just yapping on an internet forum but I hope the club don't hyper focus on it tbh.

Every team is different, requires different strengths and weaknesses, have different styles, combine with different profiles of player who themselves have different strengths and weaknesses etc.

Ndiaye would instantly become our best forward, head and shoulders above the useless cunts on display yesterday.

This is the same squad that Howe said it was difficult to find players to improve us as well.

Apart from Bruno, Hall, Tonali and Gordon I’d say they’re all very easily upgraded on.

Think Gallagher and Garner from Everton would be 2 signings Eddie would love.

Gallagher :scared: if we went for him it'd be more proof Eddie has ran his course at this club

We're trying to find a winger of the calibre of someone like Mbuemo & Semenyo, not Ndiaye. We failed massively with Elanga, but fawning over every half decent player midtable sides have bought for good value is silly.

We've brought in young players like Hall, Thiaw, Minteh, Botman (pre-injuries) and Livramento for great value, we nearly got Khusanov, a young Ekitike, Trafford etc.

Last summer was really bad, we completely shit the bed after recovering from our PSR issues but our hit rate before Mitchell arrived was very good, pretty much everyone we signed increased in value.

Oh to be clear I have no idea about the kid, I just wanted to make a point about the dangers about turning down someone on the back off their lack of direct goal involvements.

If there's more to it than that then fair enough, I think everyone would agree we need more players with ability in general play because that will make creating chances to score goals much easier anyway.

Too many games we go long periods where fuck all happens and it's partly due to the fact we can't seem to maintain any sort of pressure. Need to get better at that across-the-board obviously and not just with one player.

Yeah I wasn't clear in my post, I like Ndiaye, and I'd love someone like Maxi back in the squad despite his poor numbers. Our transfer strategy gets shit on though because people ignore all of our great transfers and focus on the (necessary) PSR induced falloff, and last summer, which looks really poor so far. Hopefully we'll see some more from atleast a couple of Elanga, Woltemade & Ramsey next season.

Yeah I remember last summer and everyone was 100% positive about the dealings prior to it.

It's why I am positive this summer will be better, last summer was an aberration but considering the context which surrounded it all it probably shouldn't be a surprise that it became what it was.

Technical, tenacious, has guile, vision and actually demands the ball. What's not to like?

His numbers in a David Moyes side apprently.

Murphys number were Messi-esque last season. I'd not start him in West Denton U12 this. More humans who like the round thing please.

I know ... I'm not the one that needs telling.
