NUFC Transfer Rumours

That Transfer Checker was adamant we were still going to end up with Wissa when the deal was considered dead by everyone else. That account reckons we're in for Hackney.

Can't remember where I read it but I think he's off to Everton.

Liverpool will prioritise signing a replacement for Mohamed Salah, with RB Leipzig's 19-year-old Ivory Coast winger Yan Diomande, who has a release clause of £86m, their top target. Newcastle and England winger Anthony Gordon, 25, and Paris St-Germain and France forward Bradley Barcola, 23, are also options. (Telegraph - subscription required, external)

Newcastle's Gordon is also wanted by Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich who could use 29-year-old Germany goalkeeper Alexander Nubel as a makeweight in any deal for the 25-year-old winger. (Bild - in German, external)

Bid submitted for Viery, according to this Gremio journalist. No idea how reliable.

Nubel is rated highly right?

If we sign that young French goalie, getting an experienced one as well would be a good approach.

Don't think it should be Pope in that position next season.

Bayern can get lost trying to palm off a keeper as a make weight. We've already been down that road.

He's been on loan at Stuttgart as their number 1 the last two seasons I think.

Just never got in at Bayern as Neuer is still entrenched there and is expected to stay in still.

Think Nubel is supposed to be really good if I recall correctly.

Yeah, it was a reliable account. Just speculating if it's potentially changed hands.

I can’t be having Pope start for us unless it’s a R2 league cup match -,his career as a 1st choice for us should be well and truly over

Mate who's a Boro fan reckons he's head and shoulders above anything else in that league.

He's been linked with us, Forest and Everton in recent days.

We're probably the hardest sell of the three.

It's the champo to be fair.

It's an odd one for me given he'd be like what? 6th choice for us?

I tuned in for a bit to see how he looked in the play offs but he didn't really get much of a kick as he came on late. From the small bits I've seen, he looks a technically adept player, but not sure he fits the athlete mode. Could be wrong though.

Our first choice for midfield needs to be a DM who’s comfortable on the ball. Not sure Hackney fits the bill.

He'd probably be more suited as a replacement for Bruno rather than Tonali.

There's been a good few players come up from that league and do well over the last few years tbf. Alex Scott, Morgan Rogers and Wharton would all start for us every week for example.

I presume, if we are actually in for him, we'd be expecting Sandro to go, Ramsay/Miley to step up and Hackney to be in and around the starting spots over the course of the season...

Beyond Bruno, if Tonali does go, we're looking light imho across the middle;

- Joelinton - as much as I love him, has been poor at times this season and is starting to pick up injuries on the regular.

- Ramsay - is yet to grab a game by the scruff of the neck whilst otherwise looking neat and tidy in possession. Also has a history of injuries.

- Miley - will likely have to cover at RB at times next season and now has a sizable injury to recover from.

- Willock - Will hopefully leave.

It's a good job we won't have europe next season because that looks a very light midfield in terms of depth, quality and character imho AND it's not even close to being our number 1 problem area with GK, wingers, strikers and full backs arguably all ahead of it...If anything, it just shows the sheer scale of the job Ross Wilson has on his hands.

I would look to actively sell Joelinton, but easier said than done because I don't think there's really a market for him. If Howe is going to play with the same philosophy then we are absolutely desperate for a disciplined defensive mid to sit in front of the defence and protect that central space. It's been a problem for years at this point.

Hackney is 24 right? I think all those listed were a bit younger.

Aye - he's 23 but 24 next month. Rogers was 21 was he moved to Villa. The other lads younger again (both 19 i think).

His contract expires in June 2027 I think so be interesting to see the fee....

Hence the links to Lamine Camara - he is very good on the ball

Agreed on both points but, again, I think there are probably much bigger issues than Joelinton to sort this summer.

We're really paying the price for;

- being far too passive in previous windows to nudge the squad along and

- last summer's spend and choices.

In an ideal world, we'd have shifted big joe already or he'd be packing his house up now the seasons done but I just don't see that happening this year.

That Viery kid looks good value as Schars replacement

He’s a left sided CB - more of a long term Burn replacement - very good on the ball

Him and Mathealie and that left side is covered long term
