Would love to see some movement in the first few days of January.

Howe has already said that if anything happens, then it’s towards the end of the month.

Deals should be lined up to be honest.

Need a RW and a creative centre mid… Exactly the same we needed in the summer and it wasn’t addressed.

Got it wrong in the summer apart from Tino and where paying the price now unfortunately.

Yeah nobody could foresee injuries to Barnes and Tonali ban, problem is neither we’re what we needed in first place.

we are in bad form, lots of injuries and the transfer window in the summer did not really help us much. all in all its a bit better rotation options with Livramento and Hall than last season but none of them improved the first eleven which was crucial to do imo.

few loans needed who can improve first eleven, if we cannot touch Saudi league loans I cannot see much improvement in this window either.

having said that tactical issues wont be solved in the window, Tindall and Howe need to come up with something much better away from home, as if the likes Bournemouth, Luton , Everton beating us its not because they have so much better squads.

Plenty were saying we didn't need creative players like Maddison because they don't have the energy for our game yet it's clear as day we've got so little creativity and we weren't just going to be able to outrun teams every week

Plenty were talking shit it's been an issue for three windows now and still not resolved (as is a right winger)

We brute forced many results last season purely by using our manic press and physicality.. being physically superior and possessing elite fitness is the bread and butter of the system we have had success with. Without that we are a weak side, the snowballing injury list fucked us in October. A bad run was always coming after that, forget creativity and technical ability for a second - we won’t see any sustained run of good form until we have the important components of this side fully fit again.

Having an enforced 6 week break during the middle of the season also helped last year. It was pretty clear it wouldn't be sustainable in the long run

I don't usually like looking back on past players and he definitely would have got injured during this run but a player like ASM would have at least provided a bit of flair to our game

ASM would have spontaneously combusted having to play a game every 3-4 days.

Was always injured over Christmas, so wouldn’t have been available anyway.

Maxi was very rarely ever the answer in those types of matches. He was always much better in games with space to attack.

The creative player thing is, imo, a bit overrated. Our attacking numbers have routinely been very good going forward under Howe, in terms of underlying stuff and actual output. Bit of a rut this month which is kinda obvious to a degree.

I do think we desperately need another wide forward now though.

Agreed on the creative midfielder. We'd benefit far more from an athletic DM to bridge the gap between midfield and defence imo, with Joelinton and Bruno playing a bit further up.

Bruno is good in the "6" role when we're in control of a game, but in games with high turnovers he struggles and huge gaps appear.

I'm not sold on the DM either but at least having a proper backup/Bruno rotation would be nice.

That nasty ocean-sized gap between defence and midfield massively reared its head again in the first half especially.
