NUFC Transfer Rumours

Optimistic Nut

Recommended Posts

I've completely switched off from all transfer rumours relating to NUFC like. Soon as you see words like monitoring you know the article means absolutely fuck all. The amount of players we've already been linked with is absolutely insane as well, clearly a tactic from within the club to provide enough of a smokescreen for our real targets.

I look forward to seeing someone random unveiled within the next few weeks that absolutely no journo had any idea about.

Theres an infinitely simpler reason than that

My guess is our first order of business is figuring out more sales.

The downside to selling players like Minteh and Anderson is it barely changed our wages + amortisation costs, which are high relative to our revenue.

We've appointed a sporting director and a performance director and a lead coach for the under 16s, but shouldn't we look into some sort of master illusionist or military specialist if we spend half of our time throwing up smokescreens?

Prity sure our huge increase in sponsorship and revenue streams covers that

What huge increase?

We have the Adidas revenue in this coming season and Eales mentioned a few others in the pipeline to be finalised in the coming months.

No idea how far that goes to offset the lack of CL revenue this season though.

Well it's all a 3-year rolling process, so presumably the CL revenue we've already had puts us in a bit of a stronger position anyway. A year where we didn't have the CL drops off.

If he's the most exciting signing we make this summer then I'd be a bit disappointed but as the versatile forward in addition to a marquee RW (Simons in my example, who's not a pure RW by any means but it would be a role he'd play quite a lot) he'd be an excellent addition IMO.

Think Mbeumo is too expensive to be that player. Rather someone cheaper and a bit younger with a higher ceiling which sounds very easy.

Could be here a while then. We ended up having to shift two promising youngsters by the end of June because selling some of the declining assets weren't that easy to shift.

I do think it's as simple as getting the new Sporting Director up and running, and establishing the communications process for getting all this sorted. We will have been negotiating or speaking with various agents/clubs, now we have a new transfer leader, got to get him in that mix. I think once that's finished, probably this week given the meetings and schedule, then we'll seemingly be much more active. I'm sure Paul Mitchell will have had his own list of targets he's familiar with, we'll have our own list, those two will have to be combined and sorted - which is why I think almost every rumour out there right now is purely speculative or based on outdated info. And we as a club have a habit of trying to keep the bigger deals under wraps until they're all but done.

It's basically like for like when you also factor in the increased match day income from the CL.
