NUFC Transfer Rumours

Really think we should be looking at a Morgan Rogers style signing. Someone who can play on the fringes until next season. Who that is, I have no idea.

I’m sure everyone is ; 8m and 7 in add-ons for a (now) England international was insane business. Easier said than done though.

Not so sure. We have murphy and Barnes can play there as well.  I think we will wait until the summer personally, and take and income as a positive for this years accounts.  We will then have more spending power in the summer, especially if we know we have European football.

Only exception might be a new keeper, if Dubravka goes.

Agree on Dibling being the main target, but it will be a Summer move. Even if Miggy goes. Think the form of Murphy, combined with the presence of Barnes, Gordon, Willock, and Isak all being able to play wide roles likely means we'll feel like we have enough to see through to the end of the season.

A lot of nothing in that Athletic piece. But it is quite promising that it seems like certain players wages will soon be off the books.

I’ve no interest in understanding all the PSR shite. But seems like we will have some money to spend in the summer and some wiggle room with wages, too. If Lewis, Wilson, Trippier, Almiron, Dubravka and Hayden are all likely to be leaving.

There's probably already one lined up, but will probably be for the summer, not this window.

I reckon this barely strengthening thing is a ruse. Eddie does get sly little points in press conferences that we have to compete within PSR without sounding negative about it. Eventually that will pay off as others notice. We are playing the long game with the goal of us having a better range of spending options. Obvs just my opinion.

I do want to get excited about us signing a new player though so I do wish they'd hurry up :D

Osula can also play on the wing, right? Think it was mentioned back when we signed him.

I thought he was more than that, but I think proven championship level players who are young is worthwhile.

I think it would be foolish to think Murphy can continue this form through the year, let alone through next season. He will be 30 in a little over a month. It is the mistake we made with Miggy. We can survive until the summer with Miggy, Barnes, and Gordon but need a replacement badly. Same for rcb.

I think it’s clear that we know this is the position along with RCB that needs huge investment and it’s likely for the summer window. In my opinion, those are the missing links from the first 11 that will have us competing for the title, let alone 4th / 5th.

The rest of the business is about improving the quality of the squad like a backup for Isak and someone to replace Pope as he ages.

I would be happy with Antony, if we can get him on the cheap, like 15-20mill. Young, Brazil international RW that is used to high pressing systems and not on high wages. Man reds are desperate to sell as well.

The problem is the league has already found him out. It doesn't take long with modern analytics to suss out a player's patterns, strengths and weaknesses. Unless he has bags of new tricks we haven't seen or he's very coachable, I don't see how he'd be an asset.

I reckon Eddie and our fanbase could restore his shot confidence but I don't think it's enough.

Wouldn't touch him with a barge pole, offers Man UTD nothing.

I’d rather keep Miggy.

You can’t be serious.

Same situation with Rashford - it's not the quality of the player (lol); it's not whether ManU wants to jettison them - but if you're earning 200K to 300K per week, you won't take a pay cut and Newcastle won't break our wage structure for Antony, of all players.
