Feel like if we get CL it will be Mbuemo. If it's Europa or Conference it will instead be a young'un like Dibling/some young kid from abroad.

I think we'll make a run at Dibling at the end of the window.

 

Southampton are already double digit points off safety, I'm sure they still believe they can rally but their next three games are Man U and Forest away, followed by us at home.

 

Let's say they get one point from those three games. 7 points through 23 games is dead in the water, surely? No massive reason to keep him and risk him getting an injury, just get some money in and start planning for their summer.

 

As an addition he's pretty much ideal. Has played plenty of PL football already so he's not going to be completely out of his depth, yet he's still young and raw enough that it will be perfectly logical to expect him to be a backup to Murphy in the short term while the team is still in top form. Let him bed in slowly, meanwhile long term he's got the potential to be an absolute star.

 

If the deal isn't there then we won't buy a RW for the sake of it IMO.

I agree, I can absolutely see a late push for Dibling or someone similar.

 

I don't think it's over for us in terms of outgoings either.

If we had that kind of money for Guehi and we can get Mbeumo for 50 million it's a no brainer give em 55 for him now

So far we’ve managed to navigate, either through luck or judgement:

 

- A 3 game suspension for Schar by using Krafu

- Botman playing 1 game for the first 5 months by using the Burn, Kelly combo

- Wilson being perennially unavailable (again…) and Big Willy being raw as fuck

- Regular niggles for Willock

 

Losing Miggy leaves us with Murph and will need similar patching should he be injured, particularly if Barnes suffers a setback.
 

If Schar, Botman, Burn and Krafth are all available I’d be willing to let Kelly go for the right price. 

 

Midfield I’m more sceptical over letting Longstaff go with only Miley and a half-for Willock to cover.

I think Mbuemo is the real deal like, but I think youre looking at north of £65m. 50M is surely wide of the mark for proven top quality PL right winger. I think the club will also still be wanting a top quality centre half by the time next season starts, a keeper and a backup centre forward. I'm not sure they'll have the money. They've been great and i think Burn has been our player of the season behind Isak but he'll be 33 by the time next season starts.

So I think £50m seems fair value, don't get it, there will be a lot of noise about him for next season, price dropping and either sell in 2026 or lose for nothing. Probably in their best interest to sell him at his peak.

We potentially do, but there's no way Brentford are going to be open to selling him this window in the position they’re in. It’s as daft as some suggesting Isak would move if Arsenal clicked their fingers

If we have 60 odd million (no idea if we would tbh) to spend in the summer it’ll be spread across at least 2 positions. Without sales, I don’t imagine we have the headroom to be making 50m signings unless new commercial deals materialize.

Aye! Also, if we make the CL/Europe we Cant go into it with such a small squad like we have now (quality wise). It’s not just physical fatigue but also mentally. Never mind injuries. Don’t see us going for super expensive ones really. I’m all for going for young 30-35m “soon to be stars” that offer something now but also have massive potential. Obviously wouldn’t mind even cheaper bargains that surpass expectations. 
 

Stay away from hyped “names of the moment” that cost more than they give us overall. Don’t get me wrong, I would love a 50m+ player or two
 

The league is more competitive now than it was last year, and I reckon it’s gonna be similar or even more tough next year. Or shall I say even.

I have to say that I agree. I think Howe won't be happy with only Murphy as a recognised RW for the rest of the season.

The Mbeumo ship has sailed, but I think that's okay.

 

Between Howe, Nickson and now Mitchell too, I'm sure they'll find someone plenty good enough.

 

Howe is also continuing to show that he'll get excellent production from players with even just a bit of talent that I just don't think we need to be too concerned about getting players that are good enough.

A RW scoring double figures? I have not been Mbuemos biggest fan in the past, but 50m (if true) is a steal really.

Mbeumo won't be moving in this window and even in the summer I think he'd cost closer to 70m or at least that's what Brentford would ask for (Man Utd are asking for 60m for Garnacho).

 

I just wonder whether we even have the desire to get drawn into that level of deal and whether we'd prefer to do more deals in the 40/50m bracket that are less hassle.

 

Just as an example, I reckon Madueke would be closer to 50 and Dibling even less than that. Both players would be better value for money are younger with more room for growth.

 

I wouldn't complain with any of them mind. Just depends what we want to do.
