Apparently that Akliouche is a top target, that may just be because of the Mitchell connection.

I hope so. He’s got that elegance. Proper footballer with great technical ability and vision/awareness.

Not sure if realistic, but I’d love us to have a go for Guler at Real for the RW.

FWIW I don’t think the RW will be a name we’ve been linked with.  I’m hoping for an out the blue wow moment this summer when it just breaks

JOSH Murphy

I actually reckon there's not much difference in ability between the two. Just shows you what good coaching and a great attitude from Jacob can do.

Would love Delap but would anticipate him having the pick of the league. Doesn't rule us out of course, but if there's a bidding war we may apportion funds elsewhere. We do need a striker though; I'd have no beef with us going back to Ekitike if we still think he's a good fit. Wouldn't rage at DCL. Hopefully Wilson gets a move.

We also need another physical CM as a foil for Joelinton and Tonali. The frustration at Anderson being perfect for that doesn't go away. Hopefully we'll find a move for one of - if not both - Longstaff and Willock, and plug their gap with Miley and a new recruit. Certainly not a sexy name, but my scouting is limited to Newcastle's opponents: to that end, I was very impressed with Ryan Christie up here this season. Exceptional stamina and guile.

If it's sexy you're after, FBRef throws up Hoffenheim's Tom Bischof as a potential option. Very impressive stats for a 19-year-old and absolutely stinks of Brighton.

Wing; aye we'll have that Bakayoko from PSV. RCB; fuck knows, cba with Palace and Guehi though.

Tom Biscof has signed for Bayern iirc.

I was just going to say that. He's going to Bayern, so we've already missed the boat on him.

Not to worry though, I'm sure there are plenty of others we can go for. This summer should be an exciting one, especially if we get Champions League next season.

My dream signings for summer would be

RW - Guler / Mbuemo

CM - MGW + Rigg

CB - Tapsoba

FB - Tyrick Mitchell

GK - Chevalier

Think if we had someone like MGW, he'd give us more flexibility across our midfield, especially against low blocks / breaking a side down. He's also been playing as a 6 for Forest so could be used to rotate others across midfield. A midfield of Bruno, Tonali, Joelinton, MGW, Miley, 1 of Longstaff/Willock after selling the other, with Rigg ready in a year or 2 would be class

Chevalier - haven't seen him at all but is being linked with the very best in Europe like Man City etc

Tyrick Mitchell - With futures of Tripper / Targett unknown, we need 1 good addition at fullback. Went for someone on a free assuming we allocate buffer elsewhere

Striker - I know others want a third striker, but if we had these 6 across the front 3 - Isak, Osula, Gordon, Barnes, Mbuemo, Murphy

How would we fit in a Delap etc? Would probably mean Osula gets 0 minutes as he does this season but at some point he's gonna have to be used (unless he is crap, which I doubt)

Those are all big names and would cost a bomb, so more realistically I probably expect us to get Trafford, and look somewhere abroad for RW and CB, with any other additions being young, talented replacements for anyone who leaves

Yeah. Sadly we don’t have the City/Chelsea unlimited money cheat turned on

Quick guesstimate you’d be looking at what, £250-300m for 6 of the 7 players you’ve listed.

I suspect the £100m comment is right, so it’ll be 3 first teamers in, CB, RW and by the sounds of it GK.

I think the squad is v light at CM and at ST. Willock and Longstaff cannot really be sold without replacements. But these might be the risks that have to be ran

its a shame there doesn’t appear to be any pipeline of players from the academy who could do a job for a 4 game stretch in an emergency, the way Liverpool, arsenal, city and Chelsea always seem to have someone for that

Said it before with Delap, we’re best positioned to sign him because the top clubs of Liverpool/Arsenal will likely want a more sure thing since they’re competing for the major trophies. Man City won’t buy him back. Spurs are tied up with Solanke/Richarlison, then it’s just Chelsea and Man Utd left.

Can’t see Man Utd going for him, which leaves us against Chelsea. And anyone who joins Chelsea over us will be a bullet dodged.

Not seen a minute of Monaco I think, but is he rated a big talent? His numbers are not that great.

Not a teenage wunderkind, but really looks like he's on the verge of stepping up a gear and peaking. Really elegant, intelligent, and two-footed. Can play left, right or as a 10. Actually reminds me of Ekitike in his style of play, only not a striker.

Yeah if he was 18/19 I could understand it, but hes 23 so I would expect him to dominate a little bit if we are paying 40m for him.
