NUFC Transfer Rumours

Any serious interest in players like Delap/David surely must mean Wilson is going. Unless he'd seriously be happy to be 3rd or even 4th choice for next season.

But even then he's on a big wage for that level of player and it's not like he still won't get injured even if he's not playing.

He be happy to lie on the treatment table. Picking up his wages.

We havent been linked but like the look of Strand Larsen at Wolves..Looks a handful anytime ive watched him.

I said a few times on here I liked the look of him.  Then he went on a barren run and kept missing sitters  he's back amongst the goals of late.

I think Wolves have an agreement in place to make the loan permanent at the end of the season.

Just can't see us spending £40m on a second striker, while we have Osula on the books too

Happy to be wrong though. I guess if we did do this, then our PSR position is stronger than I thought

Reckon Isak would love playing off someone like Delap on the rare chance we played with 2 strikers + got Delap

It's worth baring in mind, it's not just Liam Delap, it's Liam Delap + Eddie Howe.

This is it for me.

Love the energy and attitude Delap plays with. He's so robust, high energy and direct.

If Howe got his hands on that guy, he'd turn him into a monster. Such an Eddie Howe player.

I think Ekitike is a bit more versatile but wouldn’t be opposed to Delap for something different, particularly in games where we need a bit of muscle.

On a side note would love to see us go for Rodrigo Mora from Porto as the creative signing, can play out wide and looks a huge talent at 17.

£40m is the going rate for an average PL striker.

Its a bargain for someone who could be a £100m striker after a couple of years of being Howe’d.

Worst case scenario we flog him to West Ham for £35m in a couple of years.

Mbeumo plays through the middle often enough.

Decent all across the front.

Delap would be a statement signing for Forest if they have ambitions/capability to build on this season as a Wood replacement.

Great shout that!!

Nah.  You watched him much this season?  Maybe I've just paid more attention as I know a fair few Ipswich fans and it's not too far from me.  But not comparable to Ferguson at all IMO.  He's a handful even when not scoring, fast, strong, not bad on the ball for a big fella.

He's playing in a dreadful side.  Yet regularly gives opposing CB's a hard time.

Ferguson has also had injuries and was sort of unfortunate with Brighton rotating players in and out.  As someone else pointed out, he never really kicked on like you would have expected.

Do 3 minute Sky Sports highlights on YouTube or when we’ve played them count? [emoji38]

I don't see us having the excess budget to pay 40m for a rotational striker this window personally. Right centre back and RW have to be the priority.

That's the thing really.

Is Delap worth £40m? For me yes, definitely. But I don't think we can spend that sort of money on a backup/rotation option. That's first team player money.

Hopefully I'm wrong and we can fill the gaps in the squad and have Delap.

I think DCL will be the striker deal we do. Delap would be ideal though, but as others have mentioned, not sure we’ll have £40m for a backup striker.

Exactly where I think he'll end up

Agreed.

Don't see why Delap would join too unless we told him Isak would leave the following season.

A new CM is more important than a new striker.

Most top PL clubs backup striker is someone that primarily plays wide. I'm fine with Gordon + Osula personally. If we sign a RW that can also play uptop - great..

Given what we've seen so far, it would be a fair assumption that we will see more of Osula next season.

Is it? Why?

I think he'll have to stay and will end up getting more minutes due to European football. But I don't think it would be because of what we've seen so far.

I would probably want Miley to go out and on loan. But I don't think he will/can. I expect us to sign another premium midfielder but also sell at least one of Willock or Longstaff so Miley can't be sold.

Depends how pre season goes I'd guess. He'll play a lot of minutes during that.

Could argue we'd have barely seen him at all this season had Wilson been available more.

Need 6 midfielders as an absolute minimum. No way Miley goes anywhere, so like you say if Longstaff or Willock leave then we'll need another in.

One of Chelsea's many loan players, Chukwuemeka would be a decent signing. Would suit out style and system well.

Remember we didn't see a lot of Hall when he first joined. Howe likes to ensure that these youngsters are both physically and tactically tip top before he unleashes regular minutes.

I think with a good preseason under him Osula may even start a few games next season if we don't buy a Wilson replacement
