If Villa dont get Champions League and Rashford and Asensio go back to their parent clubs, morale could be bad there..Watkins pretty much got Champions League football for them and  hes benched for a player they dont even own for the most important game of the season

We’ll be in a far better position next season, it’s amazing we’re sitting third with the state of our squad. We’ve been without probably our best CB all season and have had a decent number of other absences aside.

I think they will finish in the top 5 from here though. They're in great form, have massive motivation to get back in the CL and their run-in all looks pretty winnable.

Yup villa relentlessly punished our agent backline. Absolutely no coincidence they weren't interested in attacking tinos flank.

For all the Akliouches, Mbeumos, Huijsens and Cunhas and so on which we all would ideally like, I’m not sure it’s the best way forward as it would be too expensive. We REALLY need PM to find some gems in and around 30m or so for example, on half the wages. Players that over a season become those highly rated and valued players. 
 

If we sign say 3 “purples” and we are in the CL we are still gonna be short in quality, especially in depth and the players will be absolutely knackered during the season. It’s easier said than done but that’s PM’s job and the scouts. 

Said it for ages, we reallly need to improve the technical ability overall, as well as athleticism. Said it before last season, we really need another CM too of good quality.

Trippier got next to no help from Bruno or Murphy, aye, which in turn killed Schär.

 

Thought Maatsen* was superb, which didn’t help!

I'd actually be happy with us concentrating on filling out our squad with high ceiling youngsters rather than going for 'purples'.

 

ObviouslyI'd  be happy for us to get a purple at RW and/or CB too, but I think we've shown this and last season that we have the quality, just not the depth.

We must have some names that haven’t been mentioned, lined up. Seems odd we had the likes of Wirts, Mamardiashvili, Khusanov, Huijsen, Ackliouche, Doue, Mbeumo, and others lined up when they were cheap, but couldn’t spend, and now that we have money we’re still linked with similar names even though they would now be more expensive.

This is true, I can't seem remember to the last instance of a manager (especially in the PL) missing a few games through an illness?

We will have. We were all over Khusanov, for instance, and most of us had never heard of him.

Villa paid around that for Diaby and West Ham bid only slightly less for Duran.

Top to bottom attacks, based on current average attacks or front threes this season, not including certain teams midfielder or defender ie: Gvardiol or Kovacic who have more goals than both Doku and Grealish.

 

When looking at this, if you chose the best possible players we could likely get and that would improve us, I personally think you'd be looking at Mbuemo, Delap, Semenyo, Cunha. 

 

Mbuemo or Semenyo would go straight into RW, Delap or Cunha replace Wilson as second Striker option, or I think Cunha would be versatile. 

 

It's interesting we're still the third best attack in the league with Murphy and Barnes, 

 

What's even more interesting is Brentfords, with Wissa Schade and Mbuemo.

He’s a great opportune market.

 

If you take out his hat trick against Wolves he's only got 4 goals and 3 assists in the league this season. Don't think that's great numbers

We shouldn’t be selling either 

 

Sell those who are surplus, likes of Willock and Longstaff 

 

We should be looking to build rather than selling our better players - if you sell Barnes, you will need to pay a similar amount to replace him, what’s the point?
