r0cafella Posted Monday at 12:03 Share Posted Monday at 12:03 Just now, SUPERTOON said: How much was Gvardiol? From 70-85m euro. This should be our starting price as Gvardiol isn't British so doesn't help them with Homegrown, lacked pl experience etc.
ToonAbroad Posted Monday at 12:05 Share Posted Monday at 12:05 And would also dent us in the homegrown stakes. Just way too valuable in all senses to let go.
r0cafella Posted Monday at 12:07 Share Posted Monday at 12:07 As I'm not @Yorkie id hate to lose Tino but ultimately we have to player trade so we can continue to invest. The price has to be right obviously, but the Ashley days are long gone, we can't fear players being sold we just have to expect the club to be able to make the overall squad better on the back of it. SUPERTOON Posted Monday at 12:08 Share Posted Monday at 12:08 He is a brilliant player and i would be delighted for him to stay, but if they are offering 70 million plus, we would be mad to turn it down imo.

Big problem. In the league he fully missed 4 games: Liverpool away lost 2-0 Arsenal away lost 1-0 City home drew 1-1 Everton away drew 0-0 Wolves away he only played first half, we were losing 1-0 when he went off, we won 2-1. Palace away 1-1 he played 22 minutes. This means very little, Isak is Elite, but to suggest we struggle to win or score without him is absurd to me, just like the Bruno statement people previously kept pushing! It’s stupid with such a small sample size and 3 out of 4 hard fixtures as well.

We should milk the english premium for what its worth like the others do.

Check out the games where he didn't score, even though he was playing. That'll boost your sample size to almost a third of the games. That's why we played him in the last games of the season, even though he was clearly injured. Isak scores, we tend to win. When he doesn't we most certainly dont win. It's a real issue we need to fix this transfer window. Edited Monday at 12:20 by tarie4

I'm not an expert in it, but by my reading he doesn't meet the 'trained at club' requirement because of the loans to Falkirk and Carlisle, so didn't have 3 years of 15-21 at NUFC broken by a 'single loan', and the duration isn't quite long enough. If that's the case it could be just assumptive transfer rumors. ChatGPT seems to agree with me but that's hardly worth anything

Southampton 1-0 West Ham 0-1 Leicester 0-3 Man U 4-1 Chelsea 2-0 Didn't score in any of these games which we won mate. I do agree with you though that a backup Striker should be very high priority, we need someone to take the load off.

I think Tino still has a lot to prove at RB. All of his best performances, certainly last season, came on the other side and people were rightly calling for Trippier to keep his place there. If a mental offer came in it would be one of the easier ones to stomach for me, though we could do without having to replace another player.
SteV Posted Monday at 12:47 Share Posted Monday at 12:47 (edited) If Tino was bought for ~£40m on a 5 year contract two years ago, does that effectively mean we have to write off £24m of any fee we’d get for him this window?
