Eddie is just very good at the media side of things, he knows the score. I prefer when we have a manager with that approach as oppose to a volatile prick like Bruce or Ange.

Hard to take Baldwards too seriously when he's asking questions such as "have you been working out?" really.

 

These days he's pretty harmless. An average journo, who's very good at farming engagement on social media.

 

I used to get the hate when he was more of a WUM, but he's definitely calmed down a bit. The passionate simping for him is almost as strange as the over the top hatred though.

He did the same with Nmecha as well. Even had the audacity to question Howe over signing Tonali over Nmecha after he scored the winner against us at home to Dortmund in the post-match presser iirc.

I wouldn’t say it’s the same. That Barella stuff was completely out of the blue, no one had mentioned it until he did (obviously in hindsight).

 

There’s been a lot of noise around Pedro already. And we’ve been very close to signing him at least once already. You’d think there’s every chance we’re still interested.

Been quite underwhelmed by the links so far for a variety of reasons. 
 

I think Pedro potentially has a high ceiling so wouldn’t be against it, only caveat for me is that at 60 million he has to be a starter.

 

We are crying out for a right sided forward and centre half, so unless we have circa 150 million plus to spend this summer, this would feel a real luxury signing if he was only a back up to Isak.

 

If Howe is planning on changing formation great, he can pick a pass and hold the ball up, but it’s a poor signing for me if it leaves us without a right sided forward, or centre half.

Agree a little bit. They are all solid players, but a little boring maybe. What I like about Pedro is he brings something different to the team.

If we do some sign someone before the 30th, it means we have had some wiggle room in this years accounts, which is a positive.

The links seem to be players we've been chasing for 1-3 years. More than happy that if we have a player in mind that we really like, we keep them in mind for when they are available.

I thought this window would be us pushing our team to the next level with recruitment. But going off the links we're seeing (what else can we go on?) it seems more solidifying the level we are already reaching on occasion. 

 

It's still progress. Slower yeah, but safer. 

 

We can't afford the elites, we won't risk the unknowns and so we're left with shopping the pool of good players from the Prem, that clubs are reluctant/don't need to sell.  

 

Obviously this is just how I see it. No one knows.

100% It's a problem for sure. I guess we just have to buy less of them but at inflated prices.
