I mentioned El Khannous in the realistic transfers thread a few months ago.

 

Certainly got the right profile and age for us to be interested, although I've not seen him play well for Leicester in the few games I've had to endure watching them last season

The only drawback with him is that he needs game time to develop. Is Howe going to give it to him?

 

Spending more money on a more developed player like the French lad that I like, feel like they would get a lot more minutes... partly down to price tag. At £20m, 21 years old, El Khannouss might ride the bench the entire season

I think we have enough games where he'll see time. That's before the inevitable injuries strike.

Plenty of games to play so we will need to rotate at some point. Also, you seem to just assume our top 3 will stay injury free all season?

I'd see El Khannous as a project player - tremendous  raw talent but needs more time to develop the other parts of his game. Again, his passing, tackling, and dribbling stats are scary good for how shit his team was.

That's why I think we need a more like for like option. Maybe Howe will change but I can't see him playing that kid instead of Joelinton due to injury.

As it stands we don't have enough room in the CL squad for two more midfielders, unless Willock goes.

 

I think we can only name 21 + Miley and that's without Lascelles, Krafth, Targett

The alternative would be playing Willock. Howe seemingly has Miley pegged as right sided.

El Khannous a peg down.
