NUFC Transfer Rumours

I mean, Eddie Howe and his brand of football certainly has a "type"[emoji38]. Just that Ramsey has a reputation for being somehwat injury prone (missed almost all of the season before last, and 10 games last season). Other than that, he fits our system to a T.

I agree. Ramsey would work. I just like the look of Khannouss eye for a pass. I think its something we're missing in the squad currently.

Why not both? One to replace Willock, the other to replace Longstaff. Obviously Willock is still here but he'll miss at least half of the season with a catalogue of injuries

John Percy won’t be wrong, we could well be doing both.

Two CMs would be a bit excessive IMO. Want Miley to get some actual playing time and however many games we get from Willock is probably adequate for a sixth choice. Hall (and Targett, I guess) is around if we need emergency cover.

Only reason we’d want to bring in two is if we’ve sold Isaac and have 70m to splurge on someone good enough to replace Joelinton.

I'd say just because of the striker situation we're in its probably one or the other right now.

I get that, but it basically leaves us with 4.5 CMs, including one who is only 19 years old, and with a gruelling CL campaign coming up. If one of Bruno, Joelinton or Tonali goes down for a while, we're up shit creek

Not if we sign one of Ramsey or Khannouss though right? That would be 6: starting 3 plus Miley, Willock and the new signing.

You can't count Willock as a full midfielder. Firstly, he's not good enough, and secondly he's barely available due to his terrible injury record. I think you can only really say Tonali, Joelinton, Bruno and Miley are our reliable options. On paper, yes, we have 5 CMs but only 3 are of the requisite quality and 4 of them are robust enough to play a full season

I don’t think Ramsey is any better than Willock and I don’t think he has ever been in the sort of form Willock had for us in 22/23.

While he hasn’t been anywhere near that level in the last 2 seasons, a lot of that I put down to not having a consistent run in the team due to injury or Joelinton being in that much better form than him.

I can see Ramsey going the same way as Willock here, he’s hardly a project player either as he has been around for years.

So we absolutely need two strikers and at least one CM before the window closes.

Isn't Ramsey predominantly right sided? Wouldn't want him to stifle Miley's development.

Ramsey is left sided. Looks like a like for like Willock replacement.

Left I think ? Pretty sure he has played wide left as well. I may be thinking of someone else mind.

Another snippet in the deal sheet. Taking a look at Hojlund, apparently.

I've seen nothing in Hoijland that suggests he's going to be anything other than bang average. That would be seriously underwhelming

No, you’re correct.

Also has a somewhat checky injury history. Not a fan.

If Eze goes to Spurs then Willock would be a good fit for Palace, although there was a rumour about Miley going to Palace earlier in the summer.

Adam Wharton would be the ideal long term replacement for Joelinton.

I mean that’s the dream right there. Will struggle to achieve it without selling the Snake though.
