I'd take 80M he's a much better leftback for some reason than a right back and his performances at right back at points were underwhelming. He is great but we have Hall who I think was far better in general. Hall is the dogs bollocks. Tino is class but Hall will be one of if not the best leftback in the league. Tino is still a great right back though. I just think Hall is better out of the 2 as a fullback in general especially going forward.

No smoke without fire these days , him or his agent obviously fancy the move which is fair enough but we should be at least looking to double what we paid for him .

If the club accepts a bid I doubt he'd flat out turn it down.

However, that does not mean anyone from his side is pushing for the move.

Seems to me like Man City are hoping for that though, by putting their interest out there when they have not agreed any fee, in order to unsettle him and bring the price down if he then makes a fuss.

I very much doubt that will work.

They did the same nonsense with MGW at Forest and failed.

I don’t want him sold. Hypothetically though, if we got as much as say 80m for him. Wouldn’t this more or less mean that we would be able to buy a replacement for say 30-40m and then be able to sign two 40m players on top of that when you consider PSR? Perhaps not if we include wages for the other two players I guess.

If he was sold for say 80 mill, who on earth could we sign that will offer us what Tino does? I don't think there is a good young right back out there.

Not going to be able to replace what he does defensively.

But surely we could get in a very good RB at half the price who is more the finished product in the offensive part of the game. Dont have to be as young either. No rule that says we have to replace the player like for like.

If we also get in a fast RCB we wont miss his speed that much.

For sure understand that people dont want to let go of him. But I do think the potential money we could get from a sale could help us build a stronger squad overall, especially in the short term.

Whatever we sell him for minus £24m as the remaining amortised value (£40m/5 x 2 seasons of amortisation) is what we would have to spend. So £75m would give us £51m profit (crudely). How we spend it via fees, wages, bonuses comes down to who/how many we want.

About £25m left on his book value. So that would be a £55m profit. For the next season we also get rid of his £2,6m yearly wage and £8m in amortization.

Thats means a wiggle room of £65m looking from the perspective of the next season alone.

Lets say we split that in £40m in amortization and £25m in contract costs for new arrivals.

£40m in amortization = £200m in transfer cost..

Essentially means that we wouldn't have to worry about PSR at all this season atleast.

Just a reminder that we bought Tino off relegated Southampton.

After a season in which he pretty much was out all year with a cruciate ligament injury.

We paid around £40 million.

He has since overcome that injury.

Established himself in our first team.

And has featured for England, and continues to push for more caps.

He's only 23 years old.

Asking £80 million is the absolute minimum we should even consider, which in my opinion is still not enough.

They have got a nerve thinking they can get him for less.

As you can probably tell, this whole thing really annoys me.

There's not a single bit of useful information in that Tweet, but he's still pushing it. Wonder who's payroll he's on in this case.

There's nothing really wrong with it tbh. Tino is sensational, it's not a surprise if Pep wants him. City might well have put the feelers out to see if we could be tempted to do a deal, because let's face it, everyone has a price, you just have to go to eye-watering levels if you want to sway a club who don't want to sell.

Romano's said we won't budge on a price, and if it's around £100m then it's effectively telling them to fuck off and stop wasting our time.

He's been saying the same thing for around a fortnight.

I was going to say they will be England's full backs for the next 10 years, however that dopey Jarman probably wants Winterburn and Dixon back
