Where though and to do what? He’s a huge threat cutting in from the left onto his right but he doesn’t have one other standout aspect to his game. I like him but against tired legs on the left is his best chance to be a success here.

He’ll be away in January to make way for a RW imo.

 

He won’t be happy with playing the ‘super sub’ role and if we’re being honest, he’s nowhere near Gordon’s level off the left. 
 

Personally id rather go with Gordon/Big or little Joe off the left with a proper RW.

Also at the time Barnes was signed Gordon didn't look like a starter, Miggy was still an important player for us and Murphy looked to have developed into a very useful player.

It's weird, both him and Murphy provided end product, but they felt fairly useless the rest of the time.

We looked far more of a threat with Hall and Barnes linking up. Barnes actually releases it to Hall and would sometimes look to shift the ball quickly. I thought they linked up well. 
 

Gordon, for all his pace. Often slows the play down and often ignores Hall’s overlap so that he can cut back into traffic.

Apparently having a scan this morning but hopefully it’s just precautionary and he’s fine for tomorrow but they do say it comes in threes and the last two days Pope and Wilson injuries and knowing our luck FFS!

He’s averaging about 50 minutes game and it’s been a 16 player sport for a while now.

 

He is part of the squad and used all the time.

He's not starting because despite his goals/assist contributions, he's not as good a player as Gordon.

 

Neither he or Gordon are right wingers.

 

It's a problem and I'd totally understand Barnes wanting to leave.

To be where we hoped to be - two quality players in most positions is what you ideally need. But we can't be where we hoped to be, that much is becoming clear. So yes, maybe sell so we can improve where squad is much weaker.

Barnes stats this season: 5 goals & 1 assist from 832 minutes.

 

Barnes should be starting at the moment, he’s actually in decent form. Won’t be great for others to see if you perform, it doesn’t mean you’re in the team.

If Gordon plays wells like he did today, he adds much more to the team than just goals and assists, his influence to our game is far greater if he in form IMO.
