Difficult question without specific context (game state), but curious to know whether people would still bring on Barnes first ahead of Osula (off the bench)?

Of course. Barnes has significantly impacted a number of games off the bench for us. As yet, Osula hasn’t impacted one (off the bench), albeit he has had far more limited opportunity.

No context needed. 999/1000 times you'd pick Barnes.

I agree, just curious to see where people are at after Osula’s encouraging displays and a fair number of mixed bags from Barnes.

You’re right in that Osula was definitely encouraging against Birmingham, but surely no-one would look at a decent/good performance against League One opposition and think he needs to be playing ahead of a bloke that’s scored 10 goals in under two seasons?

Having said that, if the change we were making in the game was to RW, there’s more of an argument. Although I’d still almost certainly just shift Gordon over and get Barnes on.

Sounds a lot like what other teams would call having "options".

I'm actually coming round to the thought of having a squad over selling players who aren't likely to start 47 games in a row.

Also showed hes nowhere near ready for the PL. Barnes has scored double figures season after season.

Barnes, his record is excellent against PL teams. Osula has looked decent against league 1 sides.

Lazy going backwards. Often lets his man run free.

Bit of a one trick pony to me. Would move on.

As frustrating as Murphy is, he’s always trying to help Tino out as much as possible.

My fear was realised when he came on and they had way more joy.

Jeez, go easy he wasn't that bad. The team was playing awful when he came on which makes it even harder and he barely got a chance to go forward, but when he did he still looked dangerous, even if it was him playing out of position on that right side.

Exactly. It's a common trend when he comes on. Gordon and Murphy both do the hard yards aswell as shoot.

He’s a one-way player. He’s more than just an exceptional striker of a football. He can drive with the ball and can cross a ball but he’s almost entirely useless out of possession compared to you average winger these days
