TheBrownBottle Posted yesterday at 09:29 Share Posted yesterday at 09:29 Not sure why it would test NUFC’s resolve. We paid £35m before he was even a tried and tested player. I’d imagine double that number might start to make management think.
John P Posted yesterday at 09:32 Share Posted yesterday at 09:32 We sold Gordon for £70m, and I'm pretty sure Hall would be rated higher within the club than Gordon was (or he should be at least). He's also 4 years younger than Gordon and has 3-4 years left on his contract. £50m would be a joke
HawK Posted yesterday at 09:34 Share Posted yesterday at 09:34 Amazed really that if we were selling a player to Barcelona it was Gordon and not Hall. Hall could be their starting LB for the next decade and has all the technical skills to absolutely thrive there.

nufcjmc Posted yesterday at 09:41 Share Posted yesterday at 09:41 With all these fees it will depend on what the player has indicated. The club dont want an unhappy player. Not saying hall wants to or not but will have some baring on the fee. 50m seems too little for his age, talent and still pitential but he's in a place on the pitch which dont often get massive fees for compared to attackers. The counter argument to that is when Kyle Walker went to City for 50m, I genuinely think Hall has more potential and way better technically than Walker ever was

There is a ceiling for most positions though defenders always historically selling for less. If the player is happy to stay i hope we give him a pay bump and sign an improved deal. I am not agreeing 50m is enough but can understand why its not currently being suggested at 60/70m Saying all that I dont want him sold even if we doubled our money. Kanj Posted yesterday at 10:12 Share Posted yesterday at 10:12 I think a few transfers have really skewed market value now a days. From keepers to strikers last few summers (particularly last summer) have been simply mad. isak, wirtz, caciedo, Enzo etc.

I think the skew is the financial might of the premier League and just how much money is being spent by British clubs. Lewis Hall is a gem for many reasons, he's very young but already played a lot of senior football, hes left footed, he's English , he's already one of the best left backs in the league and has experience at champions league level. He's an absolute unicorn of a player and even more so in this market. If we strip all of that away it's very difficult to find good leftbacks. Crimson Cardigan Posted yesterday at 10:35 Share Posted yesterday at 10:35 The world record fee for a full back is 62m (Cucurella). They’d have to top that anyway.
AyeDubbleYoo Posted yesterday at 10:39 Share Posted yesterday at 10:39 I’d be gutted if we sold Hall for 60m. Don’t know why I’ve been lured back into this chat mind, he’s not leaving

That's not how I would look at it personally, but his manager at both club and international level do seem to have those doubts. I do still think he's going to be a cracking player, but he also has to want to be here.

LFEE Posted yesterday at 10:55 Share Posted yesterday at 10:55 He is defensively deficient. That and lacks stamina. Always seems to drop off physically and then mentally last 15mins. Maybe an explanation in there for our 25/26 results overall.
