Free safe return transport. Alcohol on sale for those who feel they must have it. I get the first batch of buses are departing early is not ideal (I’m on one!) but that aside can’t see what’s to complain about. No different to the arrangements we used to have in the 00’s. Id Imagine they'll be escorting the away fans to the bus areas as thats what people who had purchased match tickets had agreed to do. 6 thousand is a lot and I imagine a few will escape the net so to speak, can see it causing a bit bother once people are sick of waiting and they're being stopped from going other ways though... They’ll be begging us to get on the buses 🤣 Every derby is the same though regardless of buses or metros. They hold you back 30-45mins. Was similar in Europe apart from Dortmund. It's very different. I used to go to them back then and either went on the train, the Metro or with Keith Barrett. Uually left Newcastle just over an hour before Kick off or if we went with Barrett we'd meet in the Cricketers Arms in Bill Quay which would open especially early for us and the bus would collect us from there. Never once had to do this where I was told to board a bus over 3 hours before Kick for a game 10 miles away. Each to their own but it wouldn't be for me. You’ve clearly travelled independently which is totally different and not an option on this occasion with us getting double the usual amount of tickets. Have Bruno, Joelinton, Isak and Gordon on the bench to change the game if need be (for 30 minutes max) in the second half. The mackems are local rivals, but they shouldn't be rivals anymore really given the club's ambition. If the second string can beat them and the first team effectively get a fortnight off it could reset the squad for the second half of the season in the league. Even if we don't progress, it would still be more beneficial for NUFC long-term than a third-round win against a Championship opponent, followed by a fourth-round draw at the Nou Camp against a Guardiola-era Messi/Xavi/Iniesta Barca. If Newcastle's second XI lose, it's fewer games and the mackems beat a reserve side. So what. Well I know our away support back then was a lot better than it is now so maybe that wasn't a bad thing. Was talking to a mate earlier on there who was at Anfield yesterday and said the away end was pathetic yet again. The drink and the football always went hand in hand for many fans so your impression is wrong. You don't need to prioritise.
