Paul Mitchell seems a good fit on the face of it. Only potential negative is the amount of jobs he’s had, could end up back in an Ashworth situation

Maybe they're budgeting for that this time around?

What's with all the meetings?

We better not let this whole thing slide.

Pay the fee or wait until his gardening leave runs out.

That's how negotiations work?

This whole saga is very public. that's the only difference between us hiring Ashworth and Man U hiring him.

Indeed, but they made it all public to apply pressure, and so no more meetings, and no more negotiations. The price is the price. Pay up or be on your way.

But that's not how it works. There's more negotiations and negotiations. It's often just a dance.

All depends on how nasty we want to be about things. If we don't want to dance there will be no dance.

Our owners are clearly not going to go down that route though. We will need the money and to get the leeching gardener off the books so hey ho.

We need to dance because we want the compensation money.

Yup, that's what I said in the second bit of my post.

Really excited by the links, also excited that we seem to be targeting a more transfer focused sporting director.

Yeah, Ashworths a cunt. We’ll end up with a better fit for us! :indi:

Don’t think he’s all that. Atleast not for what we need. At Man City he’s literally just gone and picked the best in class for everything.

[emoji38] and we don’t want that at Newcastle, why?

Problem is, its easy to look at Ashworth at Brighton, Pedro Braz at Benfica and say "They sell players for huge fees and another just comes along to replace them". That's the whole club structure at the end of the day. We're only getting one moving part of that.
