Your Premier League

Heron

Recommended Posts

A discussion we've probably all had with friends or family or even just online on forums, etc.

Who makes it into your Premier League? And Why?

Feel free to go down the avenues of superfandom, the cringey 'big' club debates and who you just simply like. Who makes up your top 20 clubs, would they all be English?

Discuss.

Highlighted in bold the ‘big’ clubs in my mind.  Rest are based upon top flight history and a bit of geographical spread. I could easily have swapped out Sheff Utd for Mboro, Portsmouth, Southampton etc.

No love for Portsmouth? I miss all of those early 2000s PL teams like Portsmouth, Charlton, Blackburn, Bolton, Boro, etc.

They’d all have a shout other than Charlton for me (who aren’t a traditional top flight club).  Pompey, Blackburn, Bolton, smoggies all ‘feel’ like natural top-flight clubs (or at least second tier promotion contenders)

What exactly are these stats describing?

Tracking finishing position of all clubs since the beginning of time really, lower the number the best (1 being winner of the top league). The link has the full sheet.
