We won't hold it against you man.

Think a lot of people just can't handle a rebuild like we are embarking on. And no matter how much they complain there is no magic solution for going from relegation fodder to established in Europe in two years.

If it gets you lot so wound up, just get behind a team that is already there that wins most weekends and buys loads of players every window. No challenges, no hard times, nothing to overcome and support the club through. Nice, easy street.

I never thought of writing positive or negative comments on the internet as being ‘support’ or not.  Actually being at the ground was usually how that was defined.  I’m old fashioned like that, though.

Some of yous are mental, being happy enough with the way we're playing.

It's all relative though isn't it?

We're away to the best team in Europe, who routinely dominate possession.

We've contained them to very little and carved out a couple of decent chances.

I wouldn't say I'm happy, but if it was for some better decision making and a bit of luck, we'd still be in this.

We have played a lot worse against bad sides this season. Actually been better than I expected. But undone by some bad defending (again) and some hard luck.

Think it will end up 4-5 nil to City in the end, mind.

Some of our possession play is just kindergarten stuff. Baffling.

We’re just not a good team on the ball. Bruno and Gordon only players that can take ball in tight spaces and move it. Everyone else is statues when receiving and passing, which makes it easy to make us turn it over.

When there’s space, we can move it quick as we did it earlier, but overall, we’re just not a good team at controlling ball/tempo of a game.

We are playing away against the best team in the world ffs. Was a fine half, just incredibly unlucky with the deflections.

Its more so the way Howe approaches games, and abundance of loyalty to out of form players. And of course that god forsaken midfield pocket that has been open since he took over. We are letting in soft goals left right and center, fair enough some freak injuries has been ruining the season, but he is so fucking stubborn to change, its like we have plan A and that's it. If plan A fails, then the whole damn house of cards blow over. And the "we played really well" after Chelsea match was like an insult.

Would love it if at some point this year we could do something about that vast, cavernous expanse in front of our back line. With 4 CBs playing maybe now's the time to stick Schar in DM!

Doku is causing us too many problems.

Aye he's got Lascelles on toast. Getting the ball forward for them every single time.

Overall, think we did ok. But we look a yard slower and have a a few too many plodders player against the best team in world football.

I'm sure we'd be better with 11 Bruno's. Not footballers of Murphy, Longstaff's quality.

So unlucky but did'nt expect much more today.

You are not wrong. The possession problem has been going on for a while now in the away games.

Imagine some of this lot in the late 70s/early 80s when we were dying on our arses in the 2nd division, in a half finshed ground without a pot to piss in?

With every passing game the hole Joelinton has left in this team is more and more evident.

His absence feels like it has taken two people out of the team. The press has suffered and our general defensive solidity.

Some people think he shouldn't be in our midfield and I really couldn't disagree more.

Please pay that man.

Thought we were ok there tbh - Howe got his line-up and tactics right in terms of who is available.  Can’t comprehend what the fuck Botman is thinking, you put your neck muscles into that if you’re going to head it.  Not completely buried yet.

Yes I've touched on this previously.  Pissed off with Botman not closing down his attacker.  Arms behind back and the ball ricocheting off his leg/ankle/back.  Howay man!

Not sure what parts we’ve done good? We’re literally not pressing the ball when we’re deep :D Just because Dubravka isn’t making loads of saves, isn’t a reflection of us doing well. Man City often move it around and not shoot first half.

We’ve been good down the right on the quick movements, that’s a positive. But considering it’s like 2nd gear for City, it’s a shame it’s 2-0 and we’ve not made them need to up their levels.

He just looks a million miles away from pre-injury Botman at the minute

Why were some people expecting any other kind of game?

We cant compete with them and so were not competing with them. You can fluke but with our luck?!

We knew this when the draw was made.

Give City two spawny goals and this is them against anybody outside the top 5 and almost everybody in Europe. Its every City game against almost every manager they come up against, not Howe.
