Anyone a bit surprised he's not been able to dislodge Burn from the CB position yet? He's a left sided CB from what I know so should be the logical cover for Botman. I know Burn has done well defensively, but we are really struggling to bring the ball out since Schar and Botman were sidelined and our football in general has suffered on that score.

Not really, given the lack of Schar, I think Burn was in as much for his leadership and experience as ability. Kelly hasn’t been around the group long enough to have a similar influence yet

I just think he's been signed as a LB, which will make it a poor signing long term as he's a stupidly expensive wages back up LB.

I agree with this. That’s why there’s no such thing as a free transfer. Just look at Fraser scenario. Especially when you have Targett and Burn who can all play there.

Will be an interesting watch to see if he can displace Burn never mind Botman.

Looks a nothing player to me.  Ok defensively.  Ok on the ball. Ok in the air. Ok going forward.

Passive as.

Not to say he’s bad. Just not sure what high qualities he’s meant to have beyond versatility.

He can't get Burn out of the side atm, so I'm guessing he's not much of a CB at any rate.

I couldn't agree more.  Which shocks me as I've never ever agreed on any of your opinions, ever.

Writing off players after 200 minutes, never change N-O.

its not writing off when he is persistently allowing players onto their stronger foot, seeing goals conceded from his side, failing to organise the man infront of him, not create an impact going forward, looks a little shaky with the ball at his feet, doesnt tuck in tight enough when the ball is on the other side, lets crosses come in just because theyre on a weaker foot and looks very naive when it comes to making tackles that dont require contact.

He does an adequate job at best. His deficiencies are all there to see. He shouldn't be ahead of Lascelles as backup CB and Hall / Tino should be LB dependant on Trippiers play.
