I'm glad we got him on a free. He's decent but no more. Some crucial blocks tonight, solid performance bar a few iffy moments in the first half.

I thought he was great tonight because he had to do his and Schares job.  The Swiss bloke was crap tonight.

Did lots of good things but also quite a few big mistakes.

Still think he might be good if he can be coached to not give the opposition second chances by taking too long to make a decision or thinking he's better than he is.

He didn't make quite a few big mistakes at all, he made one or two. He also made two very important last ditch blocks

A few, maybe not quite a few. Too many though.

I’m not down on him or anything, I just thought his performance had ups and downs.

fair enough, bonus points for the little shithouse shove for our second

I’d put him in over Burn purely based on pace and passing ability.

we’ve been hampered a lot recently by how slow we are in central defence, it needs fixing and Kelly can plug that hole.

no dig at Burn who has been one of our better players this season, but has limitations on the ball and is never going to get quicker.

I really like what he can bring; like Burn, he has his uses depending on the opposition. A bunch of small, quick, fairly weak forwards is good fodder for him due to his athleticism, but what about powerful strikers? I can't see him doing as good a job as Burn did against Haaland when we go into low block mode, for example.

He's barely played in ages, especially in that position. Needs a run of games in the centre now. Obviously Burn will be coming straight back in though.

He really needs to be played as a CB so he can get himself match hardened for the position. He clearly was growing into his role again once he got a handle on it.

Yeah, even when he joined us, I think it was off the back of an injury at Bournemouth at the end of last season.

Tbf, there’s 2 players on Mudryk and SL is too far away from Felix to get there. I think he was just occupying a passing lane in case there was a pullback (no Chelsea player to pull back to as it turned out).

That was a very good a pass from Mudryk to get it to Felix. Probably one of only two good things he did.

Just a bit of a miscommunication by the backline as a whole really. Schar pushes forward and is fearful of the overlap when IMO he should drop, Longstaff should be going toward Mudryk and Krafth should be supporting that / watching Cucarella on the overlap.

It all happens very quickly and I don't really see any one player that's at fault there.

Or if we're just here to blame Longstaff for everything, have at it. The cunt.

Longstaff was with Felix a second before that though, he just gave up.

I like him but, pace aside, I don’t think he offers enough to displace Burn’s aerial ability. Burn is pretty decent on the ball and is also criminally underrated on here; the guy can go on a run of really good games but it only takes one mistake for him to be labeled shite.

Because Schar is also right with Felix. But then Schar goes across to Mudryk expecting Krafth to go with Cucarella on the overlap, rather than sticking with Felix and allowing the combination of Longstaff and Krafth to cover Mudryk / the edge of the box. It is a miscommunication across the entire group.

Longstaff didn’t do any of it though  he’s the only one of the three who did nothing. Tonali was back covering the edge of the box.
