One of the worst performances I've seen from England in a long time. Said earlier it was like watching Bruce's Newcastle, and I wasn't wrong. Got to be down to the manager and the tactics?

It's 100% the manager man.

The team doesn't even function a little bit.

The performances are falling below even an average level with these players?!

Gareth is a decent guy, but this ain't the gig for him man. It's not for everyone.

Maybe he'd be a really good pundit or something.

Piss. Poor. Do wonder if this type of tactic will benefit us later in the tournament.

You mean until we get knocked out by the first hand decent opponent we come up again.

Na, he’d be a soft piece of penalty missing shit at that too.

Tell the wingers to be wingers and stretch the pitch. Tell Kane to be a fucking striker. It’s not always about which players are on the pitch, it’s what you tell them to do.

This is on the manager make no mistake, I’ve been a defender of his at times because some of the criticism over the years has been over the top but this tonight is proof that he hasn’t adapted and hasn’t had the growth that a manager with an ever increasing wealth of attacking talent at his disposal should have done.

He went with TAA in midfield again, fair enough. When on the front foot it’s shown it can work, but tournament football is too unpredictable to gamble on being able to control and maintain enough of the ball to say it will consistently pay off. As soon as the tide turns the choice of TAA is exposed, there is not enough industrious energy between him and Rice to get the grips with the change of momentum and regain some control.. it means everyone has to work harder and some of those players were flat on their backs after 2 group games. He has to start Gallagher next game, that is the only necessary change at the moment.

The team selection incited poor individual performances from players that are used to controlling a game with a high press for their clubs, the tactics are to far away from their bread and butter. It’s so frustrating.

The most annoying part of this is Southgate decided to stick around a mess up the Euros AND didn't become the Man U manager. Spoils all the parties.

England with an unbalanced but talented squad. Fans with crazy expectations.

ENGLAND IVE MOSSED YOU

I feel bad for England fans man.

If the team at least looked somewhat exciting, energetic or dynamic, I'm sure they'd be a bit more relaxed, even if they didn't win. At least they'd enjoy the matches.

Having to watch a team with this calibre of players, play so badly, and never win anything ...

That is some kind of punishment man.

The craziest bit is that you'll jammy your way to the semi-final.

We play the WE INVENTED FOOTBALL card every chance we get.

2 games two goals that were fortunate we don't create anything the serbs and Denmark looked the better team against us. He cannot change things up to address problems. Same subs two games running and doesn't use his bench enough.

Guehi was our best player closely followed by saka and walker.

The rest were all 5 or 6 out of tens.

The team doesn't have any structure, it is painful watching them try to pass it out from the back when we have a keeper who cannot kick better than a five year old.

So so bad.

Southgate is absolutely clueless, although he did finally realise trent is not a midfielder.

What a difference when someone comes on and knows where to run and recieve and pressure etc...

OUCH

Southgate deserves every bit of criticism coming his way. We are far too predictable and negative. So many players wasted and ineffective.

It all comes down to picking the right players, system and patterns of play/ tactics.

That was a shambles today. I feel for Kane tbh, hung out to dry. If we set up like that again he’ll struggle. Southgate either picks him and we play to his strengths or we sack him off and pick a runner.

This didn't used to feel so bad when we had shite bacon eating, cabbage faced, fake Dutch, toothless, monarch wannabe losers managing our club. But having lived a little with a progressive attacking minded manager Southgate's anti-football is like having poison sucked straight into your veins.
