So fucking lazy and ignorant

In his defence (thanks for making me write this btw

He obviously has to get a piece out as soon as possible whilst it's still hot to hit his clicks quota.

State of modern journalism unfortunately.

Demba Ba

There was a piece doing the rounds a little while back on his transition into becoming a DOF.

Has apparently done very well. Think he's at a lower league team in France at the minute.

Would be too big a jump at this stage.

If he hadn't played for us he obviously wouldn't have been mentioned. I'm sure Demba can be a good DoF one day, I hope he will.

When I first saw the headline it was a case of WTF? but now it does appear to be a genuinely amicable separation and with little/no predicted adverse affect on the plan for this window. All leaves me asking the question: why is he leaving? The only guess I can make is that due to Eddie’s outstanding performance again this season there could be some ‘going over Mitchell’s head’ between EH and Eales/PIF?

Mitchell always comes across well in interviews but as mentioned above, some internet crackpot ITK is far more believable than the true source itself for information for many people.

Wont be a comb

Yeah, I'm sure his name was brought up by Douglas because of that.

It's pretty silly really, as he isn't even at a club in a top division.

I don’t think Mitchell comes across well. That’s where the problems started. Came across very bullish and strong minded - too much.

Thise Geordie Journos say he’s ruffled feathers behind the scenes and I can see why. He was overly direct and abrasive in public interviews.

We need an iron fist in a velvet glove!

These DOF's seem like a position at a club that a person should stay in for years to build an infrastructure, yet they seem to move around more than managers

Almost like many of them are charlatans who get out before they're found out.

Yourself and many others are skeptical of the role eh?

Maybe I'm projecting but I really expect the role to be a long term one and have a very broad remit. The club should have a philosophy like Barca imo and despite us having two highly reputable DOF im yet go see any philosophy implemented at all.

It all seems very uncoordinated to me, at boardroom level that is.

I would take Ashworth back. He wasn’t a transfer guy but could challenge productively in that area.

He had a healthy tension with Eddie.

Thought you were joking the first time you mentioned it. You can’t take someone back that’s been plotting behind your back. I know it’s a grown up world but in footballing terms that’s a line you can’t cross.

I've written pretty extensively on here about it, so won't do so right now, but yeah, I think the position tends to have very low accountability and is ripe for exploitation by verbally dextrous frauds.

Re: the boardroom and it's appointments generally, I think there's a very strong argument we're extremely lucky to have appointed Howe and basically all the progress at the club, including off pitch, has hinged on him being here. I only really trust the decisions of him and Yasir among our upper echelons.

Wouldn't be surprised if it's Mitchell spitting his dummy out because Howe knows more about his targets than he does and kept poo-pooing them. Abrasive knackers are usually thin skinned posers anarl. Do better and try again Phil lad.
