TBF no club is doing much, I think under the current conditions its really important to get value for money on every deal, the last few days will be crazy

I’m not sure if the last few days will be crazy TBH. Just as likely to fizzle out because nobody can afford to spend.

You might be right but I just think a team will chuck some money at a player which will get passed around loads of clubs

Everyone is now going to be going for the promising youngster bracket of players, there will be a lot of competition for the next Mbuemo or...dare I say it....Elliott Anderson. :bluestar:

The funny thing is if he's doing brilliant job, that will potentially involve spending very little money on a small amount of untested unknowns. Which will piss everyone off.

You’re forgetting than selling those unknowns for big profit which will further piss everyone off because they’re now GEORDIES.

Forest have done it well

they now have a core group who settled after the scattergun approach

we did it well also but been far too stagnant for too long now

They also got deducted points and survived a last day of the season relegation threat with heavily soiled y-fronts and fingernails chewed to the quick

All because they had the audacity to build a squad that could keep them in the top flight after getting promoted

Every competitive silver lining has an anti-competitive cloud, it is the PSR way. NEVER FORGET.

Easy to say in hindsight, but they finished on 32 points. They could have easily gone down were it not for such a weak group of promoted teams.

I don’t blame Paul Mitchell at all , he’s got nothing to spend.

Don't know why he took the job to be honest. We are at PSR limit.

That's probably why he took it, easy life.

Please just get a Saudi Pro League loan player or two.

We need a bit of fresh blood.

Riyad Mahrez or Sadio Mane on loan?

Ruben Neves or Milenkovic-Savic on loan?
Even Ivan Toney - loan swap deal with Wilson (with PIF paying salaries)

Simikan on loan for RCB too.

Would defo finish top 3.

If you want a job in the PL then PSR limit is probably a fact of life wherever you go.

We’d actually have to recycle some players to do it well, rather than clinging on for dear life until they’ve lost most of the value they’d have held a year or so earlier.

TBH I really don't want to become a soulless footballer factory like Brighton, it looks well shit.

Overall, I agree. Smash PSR. Think I might start finishing all my posts with this sentiment, Cato-style.

So the Guehi stuff in the summer was just speculation?

No, we could have signed Guehi but it would have likely meant selling somebody for a big sum this month or before 30th June.
