Nagelsmann isn't blind after all.  :pimp:

Thiaw (3 caps) is back in the national squad for the first time since 2023 for the two matches on November 14th and 17th.

Get in. Chuffed for him.

Not even joking when I say I will be wanting the Jormans to win the World Cup if Wor Malick and Big Nick are involved.

Wish I was typing this post in such a beautiful language such as German in fact, and that they’d won world wars 1 and 2.

Could have Burn, Gordon, Tino and Hall for one of the other international teams

For me, he's currently our strongest defender.

He was also the only bright spot in this very poor match against the Bees today.

Him and Tonali (and Woltemade looking promising for the future) have been the shining lights so far this season.

Thiaw did play against Luxembourg, but unfortunately, he only came on as a substitute in the 79th minute.

I think Nagelsmann lacked the courage to start him.

Instead, he played Anton, who is five years older and only an average center-back.

Anton played so poorly yesterday and made several truly awful misplaced passes.

Thiaw should have been given playing time to gain experience, also with the future of the team in mind.

Nagelsmann is just not a good Coach.

The fact Dan Burn wins a far lower % of his aerial duals than Granit Xhaka is food for thought.

Not really. Dan Burn competes for a higher number of headers (both offensively and defensively). I would assume it's the number of offensive headers against oppositions best defensive aerial headerers that drags his win % down.

Dan Burn will be top 3 for overall headers won in pure numbers - the volume is so high. It's one reason I slyly prefer Burn at CB to Botman. I can't think of many goals we've conceded with Burn losing an aerial battle directly leading to a goal in recent times. I've seen it happen to Botman a few times.

Xhaka I assume is winning headers against other midfielders in general play. Which is less volume, easier to win and easier to direct to general play. Dan Burn is trying to win offensive headers for flick-ons and such.
