Tbf it's not just Man Utd but that cartel of clubs. It would have been a similar conversation had Liverpool or Arsenal been down there. But it's symptomatic of how sports media works, it's also a self fulfilling prophecy by focusing on a certain few clubs, keeps them bigger in the public eye for sponsors, advertisers etc and many fans who don't support their local clubs and aren't drawn to other clubs.

Not just Man U but they've had special treatment from the Media since the awful Munich plane crash

Well said.

I get the point he is making but given that their game is against Man Utd it seems a little overly sensitive.

And the fact your position in the league is always relative to those around you.

I get it like, but at the same time don't think this instance is a huge deal. Asking a manager about the opposition you are facing is pretty standard no?

He'll shoulder absolutely none of the blame for this either.

I'm just sick of his shit me. That line about the ball being light versus us in the cup. What an absolutely embarrassing statement to make. Then to come out with that level of arrogance yesterday and say it's obvious. It clearly isn't fucking obvious because half the country are debating it.

For me - if that's a straight Red then so is the Wolves one. Both went studs up into ankles and can see the rationale for both tackles to be Yellows or Reds. They're both very borderline.

To suggest it's obvious is minging. Almost like he couldn't quite say it in full honesty so just said something to deflect.

It's all just part of a pathetic, desperate narrative to try and drive a siege mentality at Arsenal. That might work for a few seasons but then it runs its course. He's creating it and it is insufficient to assist him in winning him things and so he is absolutely fucked. Cause he hasn't got anywhere else to go, because he isn't good enough.

I'm not sure he'll be there much longer, he's far too combustible to stay anywhere for too long. Sooner or later (if they haven't already) the Arsenal fans will start to get sick of his shit if he continues to go without winning anything, and I'm not sure if a league cup win would satisfy them. They're already out the FA Cup this year, so that's another season without a big trophy because let's be honest, they're not winning the Champions League. Same again next year and there'll be questions.

If Villa get around £80m for Duran, and presuming they beat Celtic and get £15-£20m for progressing in the CL, I wonder if they could use this FFP bumper to consolidate themselves ahead of the likes of us, and be a mainstay around 4-6th at worst in the league

Their sponsorship deals are still below ours. It think they get less match-day income as well.

They have also spent money both in this January, and last summer as well.

I doubt that their PSR headroom will be above ours.

According to that chart I posted yesterday, their wages to turnover ratio last season was 96%, so they’re going to be massively hamstrung by that unless they’ve been able to significantly reduce it.
