Think it has more to do with 1) him playing for Forest and 2) none of the clubs many consider to be our equals seem to be after him, therefore making him an inferior player.

Or some are just worried about his limitations/similar playing style we already have :dontknow:

That and he’s probably third down on the RW list? After mmmbeumo and pedro.

if I had to criticise the club, it would be not having a clue how much wages our list of transfer targets were wanting, and the transfer fees required to buy them from their current clubs.

Obviously we don’t know what’s happening behind the scenes and can only go off press rumours, but we’re rapidly going down our list if what we’re hearing is correct.

Please show me where he put a £50 million bid in last summer.

*£35m before he had his best ever season. So slight amendment.

But not sure how it changes the fact Howe wants him?

It’s not though is it. It’s £6m + wages a year. It’s not going to bankrupt us.

Tonali is £11m per year on amortisation alone. Major risk from Serie A. Isak is £10m. By your logic we should go out and spend £60m on the best winger in France, Spain or whatever and get a sure thing. And with that I would actually agree with you. Not justifying spending £50m on Elanga.

Which I also don’t mind. But it’s not great business.

Tonali and Isak weren’t big risks, they were known quality. they also had the price tag to match.

The club basically haven’t been willing to take a load of £20m punts a la Brighton. The strategy has been pay more for reduced risk. Elanga is low risk in a way some of the other players mentioned aren’t

One of the last people I would take notice of is Downie. You want to believe that fair enough. Shows fuck all to me and we will soon see anyway.

You want me to forward you the emails between the clubs?

It was literally reported everywhere.

You know, it's OK being wrong. It's that not deep.

Let's see how this plays out.

Have you got the emails? No, so why mention it

I take no notice of what is reported, as the vast majority is just clickbait. I've said this countless times before.

You're right let's see how it plays out

Might be an option if we don't get a striker, he's played there before.

Last time I saw Elanga play up tops (admittedly in a two) he was electric, got 3 assists, and Forest won 7-0.

Half of his highlights are him basically doing what you can see Howe wants Gordon to do through the middle but doesn't. His positional sense across the front line looks really good.

Well outside of the actual emails, if you don't pay attention to anything that's reported then how else exactly am I to prove the pointless point you're trying to make me prove?

Trying to get my head round the idea of someone taking no notice of reports whilst actively commenting on the content of those very reports ffs.

Did he sign, no end of conversation. When players have deals which are official, and medicals are arranged, then I'll listen to what is reported. As you said, let's see what pans out

It’s an opinion as they’re different types of player but Akliouche is a lot less physical and more “safe” in his play. Elanga’s certainly the more effective player.

You said it quite definitively so wanted to ask why.

Statistically Akliouche is a more creative and progressive as a player with the caveat of a different league and style.

Honestly Minteh’s underlying numbers are similar in strengths and weaknesses but a lot more impressive than Elanga in key areas. Elanga got way more assists than his expected data, Forest are a low possession side so he makes few passes and has low pass accuracy. But he’s also not a massive ball carrier or great 1v1. Elanga doesn’t beat a man on average per 90. Minteh will beat 2+.
