Yes, because not frothing at the mouth over everything he does and not making him the issue for every bad result means I'm pretending he's great. Makes perfect sense.

It wasn't a bad result though. You're trying to be edgy and going against the grain here but unfortunately are just making yourself look a bit silly. He's rubbish and it's a simple as that.

Someone tell him he’s the fastest player in the PL , so take your man on again and again.

it’s ridiculous we’ve got a winger who relies on pace and is unwilling to use it.

It was a bit Obertan at times today. Although I do think defenders just drop off 5-10 yards against him and offer him a small’ish strip down the line to attack.

He’s not a natural goal scorer, he cuts back on himself and he had Wissa running in middle of goals.

He should have been aware of where we had runners, he could have taken a look but he’d already made his mind up that he was going to shoot.

He was entitled to shot, but, he had the better option - not Barnes, Wissa was the ball. I thought at the time that he’d decided he’d try and be the match winner and it wasn’t the easiest of finish. He’s just not a very good footballer and no amount of coaching is going to improve his natural talent or his instinctive decision making.

If not being in such a haste to write off players is edgy then I guess that's what I am then.

You guys keep whipping yourselves up into a frenzy over how "shit" he is and screaming at him in the stadium. Well done.

Which is what he should exploit with his pace and be able to whip a ball in to the box.

He should. But for whatever reason, he doesn’t. Like to think it is a mental/confidence thing and not that he has actually turned into Obertan.

Some PHD level psychology insight on display there like. You seem like someone who really understand the human psyche.

1 - certain players get loads of shite in the ground. I’m there most weeks and over the last few years have been in every part of every stand apart from the family enclosure. It’s the same everywhere. We have pantomime villains in black and white, the player being targeted may change but the attitude from the stands doesn’t.

2 - many people, including footballers, respond much better to positive encouragement rather than being shouted at and told their shite.

3 - telling someone their shite lots of times wont typically result in them stopping being shite, it makes them even more shite because it destroys their confidence.

Don’t claim to understand the human psyche but you gave an example of someone who was abused who went on to play the best football of their career for the same club. So it didn’t affect him one bit and I don’t think any of the current squad have had the stick you say they have. People react to the game, whether that is positive or negative, so there is going to be some noise when someone makes a mistake. Every time he got the ball today there was encouragment to go forward when he received it and it was followed by a groan because he was fucking useless.

He really should've square it at the end, but finally we see how useful he can be with that Ramsdale throw.

Although even there he failed to really open his legs. He looked hesitant to run at full pelt in case he lost control of the ball otherwise I'm pretty sure he could have done the defender for pace.

Tell me what you think he's done well and then I can tell you why you are wrong.

This forum loves to write off underperforming players completely. Gordon, Elanga, Ramsdale and Ramsey the default whipping boys at the moment. I have probably been guilty of it out of frustration .

Dan Burn was poor at left back, got abused from our own fans even though he was fully committed to doing his best when he played.

He got better on the pitch because he got moved to centre back. Not because he got called shite by thousands of our own fans.

How many more time do we have to go over that same point.

I was so guilty of that shit when I was younger. I gave a few San Jose Earthquakes players constant abuse at the games. Not helpful at all.

Gordon had already showed quality. I don't particularly like him but thwre is a player in there. He showed that today and he's shown that before. Ramsey looks steady tbf. He's a good squad player. Ramsdale is average but has sone redeeming qualities.

They aren't in the same category as Elanga. You'll figure it out in time.

I was shocked to even read on here from someone that goes to games that Miley was getting stick in the stadium earlier this season.

What on Earth that young man has ever done on the pitch to be getting stick is beyond me.

I could not believe it.

Elanga had a brilliant season at Forest, Ramsey less so for Villa, but is getting more leeway than Elanga?

Aye we should play Elanga at left back then and then we can't say he's shite cos he's playing out of position. That's a good idea.

Miley is a good footballer. Only an idiot can't see that.

Ramsey is a decent squad option for us. He's not great but he'll do a reasonable job. Elanga is just a terrible footballer. It's as simple as that
