Superior Acuña Posted yesterday at 01:24 Share Posted yesterday at 01:24 This feels like a big deal, like it did the last two years. Yet apparently we played these at the same stage just 4 years ago and I have no memory of. I would’ve watched, but shows how disinvested I was at that time. They were pushing for promotion and so played their second team and we still lost. Deservedly. Be glad you don't have the memories it was peak (or ditch) Bruce. Stifler
Aye it was grim. It was one of those where we should have been winning, and if we did you thought maybe Bruce would fluke his way to a cup win for us. However we came up against a team who had a good run of form going with confidence. It didn’t matter that they played their 2nd team, the confidence ran through their club, and we were no match to it.
Sibierski
All we wanted was a draw at home, and we got it. Looks likely it’ll be Spurs / Arsenal / Liverpool in SF, so will be a tough run to win it, but have a chance if we can get to SFs and get a player or two in who are not cup tied. Ginola14
I couldn't believe MU got a difficult away draw they've literally had about 15 homes on the spin in domestic cups if you discount the non-leaguey draws Edited 15 hours ago by Ginola14

Dr.Spaceman
Spurs, us, Liverpool & Arsenal in the last 4 is going to be a great look for the competition. Gone are the days of all the top clubs treating it like it's worthless.
The College Dropout
Spurs/Man U would be the one to avoid in the semis if we get there. CL clubs have so many high quality games in Jan/Feb they will have to heavily rotate. I would expect Spurs and Man U to play their stronger sides. The last couple non top 6 winners were Birmingham and Boro no? 10+ years ago a pop. The squad depth is so deep they can get to the semis playing heavily rotated teams and take it from there. Looks like the last few group stage games are in January though so Liverpool and Arsenal will probably be through by that point and just play the reserves .
