We were poor away from home for the majority of last season (at least performance wise). At home we were excellent for the most part, a few blips aside. 

 

Even at our worst last season we still posed a huge goal threat though, it's hard to grasp how limp we look going forward this season.

We don’t know the levels of the owners patient so we don’t know if he’s off point or not. All we know is combine the money to buy the club and the money in the transfer window’s then they’re over three quarters of a billion down. It’s safe to assume they will be wanting higher than 7th eventually and at least will be wanting constant improvement.

Probably because its not "shite" and is cold fact. Last season was a pale shadow of an imitation of the season before, but was excused because of injuries. The injuries aren't as extensive this year but the performances are getting worse not better despite "lessons being learned". From what I and many others can see, we might have learned from the lessons but look like trying to make the results worse. Yes we might only be 3 points from Europe, but so are half the league. We're dropping points left right and centre in matches we really shouldn't be

Every match sees me pffftting at our ball retention, it's been the same for a long time. You see other sides performing it well, then you see us doing a couple of sideways followed by an attempted forward key pass that goes nowhere, the regularity is remarkable

Suggesting literally all of last season was full of poor and disjointed performances is just nonsense, sorry man. There was a few stinkers and a couple of ropey spells, but we won far more than we lost, showed amazing staying power given all of the setbacks and scored 400 goals. Even pur apocalyptic away form wrought several wins and otherwise meaningful results.

 

This season has been very mediocre so far but pointing to trends based on retconning last season is totally unfair.

I thought we started really well today btw, for the first 10 minutes or so. Seems a bit of a theme this season, which makes me think we’re set up to win games but the players lose their heads too easily.

Did we win far more than we lost? +4 in PL and -2 in the CL. 

The results were decent overall considering the injuries, but way to many performances were we looked totally lost like we have done most of the games this season.

We ended last season well. Won 7 and drew 2 of our last dozen games, scoring 31 goals.

Performances simply haven't been anywhere near good enough for the last two games, embarrassingly so. There shouldn't be any excuses for it either really, if we can't even grind out results, getting goals from elsewhere on the pitch when we don't have an adequate out and out striker, against dogshit teams like Palace and West Ham - it's down to the manager and I really hate having to say that. Whether it's down to Eddie not motivating the players (they've looked far too complacent against lower teams) or whether it's a lack of tactics on his part, I don't know, but a slow start to the season, then a handful of reasonable games against 'better' teams and now back to this level of shit is clearly something that needs sorting sooner than later. I feel like we've stagnated and gone off, particularly since this summer, like all the good work that had been done in the previous two seasons is slowly unravelling, to the point that we're going to need a fresh approach. We don't look invested and we don't look capable, that's something I think the owners are likely to start questioning soon.

 

We're not even doing the basics right for fuck sake, it's sickening.
