Aye, agree with that. By 65 mins most the team was spent against wolves, which helped their late flurry of chances. 

Without a doubt, it needed a fresher team today, but that's in hindsight, and Howe would have been vilified if longstaff, Miley, willock etc all started and we also lost.

I've said it elsewhere, not to excuse us because we were well off it, but that's potentially one of the best performances I've seen from an away team at SJP.

Depends what you mean by outplayed I suppose. They contained us and ended up winning, so fair play. But without two critical errors it probably finishes 1-1. 

 

 

 

 

They completely deserved the win and it could have been more

 

I don't think anyone can watch that game and think a draw would have been a fair result

These are a side that have just gone 10 games unbeaten, they're not a Wolves or a Southampton. They're comfortably the most organised side I've seen come to SJP this season.

Which is maybe more impressive than our run considering their club size and injury list.

But we did, and we only did so because of their pressing. We deserved nothing from the game imo, we didn't press them like they pressed us. The half arsed efforts we did muster resulted in Tino and Burn being exposed to 1v1's

Bournemouth were class i thought like. Made us look average. Fair play to them

A winning run brings confidence, sometimes over confidence with a hint of arrogance. We were so calm from the first whistle to the point of being passive in defence. Maybe a misguided confidence we would get back into any game if we went a goal behind.

 

Bournemouth had us down tactically from the start. The press and closing down wide angles. We had no idea how to break them down and could cared less about closing them down or marking runs. It was an absolute shambles.

 

Congrats to Bournemouth and their fans that traveled. Maybe we had nothing in the tank but it appeared we simply didn't want to risk starting the engine at times. Credit to Tonali and Bruno. Gordon ran his heart out at times too. Overall as passive a performance as we have seen for  good while.

No complaints here. We looked gassed from the start and 4-1 is fair reflection on the game. As awful as we played, whether its fatigue or not... They tactically did a number on us today. They'll get praise and rightly so.

 

My only gripe today. Bruno expecting a foul every time he does down and Joelinton thinking he can hold off 11 men at once opposed to releasing the ball.

 

However, we're on the back of 9 in a row, one game from a potential final and on course for European football again. Today isn't a disaster by any stretch. Onto Southampton!

The team have had a lot of attention this last week, with getting into the top four, and suddenly being talked about as title contenders. Maybe a bit of edge went out of our game with those extra expectations. I particularly felt that at the start. 

 

But all in all, Bournemouth had us beaten physically. We were exposed as slow in defence and they won most of the 50-50 balls.

We were really, really poor all game long. And they were good.

We made a bad decision or execution on so many levels. They didn't.
We weren't comfortable in possession. They were.
We gifted them two or maybe three of their goals.

We had an off day (I hope). They didn't.

Simple as that. Frustrating and disappointing to say the least. But it's still nine wins in the last ten games. And we have a week to rest and regroup ahead of a winnable game.
Bournemouth were good, they came with a plan and executed it well. I'm sure we had a plan as well but we were severely lacking in the fundamentals today imo. Poor passing out, a lot of unforced errors (Burn a couple of times, Schär within minutes of coming on). Anyways, we go again. This won't break our push for CL.
