Newcastle United (4) 2-0 (0) Arsenal - 05/02/2025

That Trippier performance keeps Livramento out the starting eleven.

Also felt 5 at the back was the best we've looked all season.

Requires a bit more from Murphy and Gordon, but we got goals out of the pair of them.

Could be a new contingency plan for Howe.

So going into the final we will have a no1 keeper, Gordon, isak and tonali compared to last final.

Well, still time for them to pick up red cards in the league which cross-over.

Was about as comprehensive a win as you could have wished for. They never really got a sniff, and we scored three good goals.

Comm on Paramount, "Newcastle were by far the better team". They really were. You are correct. They think Isak is the biggest difference maker.

I love the reaction from the players after the game btw. There was a celebration naturally, but it wasn't like it was 2 years ago, that was this massive outpouring of emotion, from fans and player alike. Today, was subdued, like we havent done anything yet, and more business. Love that.

Sat here feeling a bit melancholy. Whilst also buzzing inside.

My Dad died two weeks ago today and he was a Gooner. I would have been enjoying some light piss taking with him now.

Still got a whatsapp from him that made me smile at the time over how aggro it was

This was after an hour in the first leg:

“Not watching. Tie is done. Good luck in the final 👍️x”

Sorry for your loss mate.

My stepdad is in hospital at the moment. Last week we got a phone call asking us what his wishes were. Fortunately he’s pulled through, although he’ll likely have no real quality of life and will be homebound forever, even though he has been for just over a year now.

I quickly rushed up to hospital tonight to put some money on his hospital TV so that he could watch the match tonight.

This is the guy who got me interested in football and took me to my first games.

Even though I was nervous today and thought it would be so us to fuck it up, I wanted to make sure he watched the match incase we did something special.

I’ve went on a bit of a tangent here, but I kind of get your pain, my thoughts are with you.

What time is the draw? I need to go to bed.

To be fair, there is a draw, you have a draw to determine who is the home team and who is the away team.

Sheesh.

Trossard is absolutely perfect for Trippier so is the tedious side to side passing on the edge of the box of this Arsenal team.

I genuinely can't think of a single other team I'd want him out there defending against.

The formation was a good switch up tonight as they were going to come at us full throttle, but we've beat them the other way twice this season too.

Got to be careful not to get carried away by this match.

Agreed, I think last time it was pure emotion and relief of getting to a final at long last.
