What can the club do about season tickets though? Only increase the capacity and thats under way. There isn't any answer other than that, is there?

The loyalty point debate for aways is another thing altogether, but i'm not sure there's another club in the world where season ticket holders aren't prioritised over others. It's just how it is.

Loyalty points for members, go to a game earn points, less attractive the game more points on offer. More points on your account means higher priority when games like cup finals or even aways get offered to members. And to go on an ST waiting list you need to pass a points threshold

ST holders with loads of points still get first dibs and keep their position at top of the tree, but members can start to make their way off the bottom rung by going to games

Have a look at Chelsea’s membership scheme, they do this

And a directly relevant example of a club not prioritising ST’s over members is Liverpools Wembley allocation. Members and ST’s got equal priority, anyone who had been to 2 x Carabao games was eligible

I agree on the points for members, yep.

But it won’t solve the fact there’s no ST’s available until we extend, and that really isn’t anyone’s fault.

Agree, it’s not anyone’s fault. And as there’s no ST’s available then that’s even more reason for the club to implement solutions that narrow the gulf between those with ST’s and those without

But you can't say it's unfair season ticket holders have priority, if the proposed solution is to allow members who have gained more points to then get priority over those who haven't.

IF we want equal priority for all then go back to queueing outside of St James Park... First come, first served.

Although it was a nightmare with school or work

No it doesn't. You sound like a brain dead moron with no concept of how business, marketing, and clearly,.......how loyalty work's.

You only want members to get the same benefits as season ticket holders get because your not one (season ticket holder). If you were one of the many season ticket holders not getting to the final you'd bitch and moan and moan the exact opposite of what your currently doing now, you selfish prick.

Some people have always worked night shifts, worked abroad, live miles away from home and struggled to get to every midweek game. Guess what? final is on a weekend.

Season ticket holders have always had their tickets sold to them on the grounds of they'd get priority for own seats for cup matches. Members had their tickets sold to them on the basis of allows you to enter a ballot.

Loyalty points for members?????? give your fucking head a wobble man. Tens of thousands of people in front of you can't build loyalty points who suffered the Ashley years coz we'd seen it before and couldn't face the embarrassment of singing "we're the loyalist football supporters, the world has ever had" knowing we'd jacked it in when the times got a bit rough from one fat twat.

FWIW - You achieved absolutely fuck all by doing it, other than looking like a complete melt on a football forum when you don't get your own way. Crying and bitching and moaning that its unfair coz you know how to slightly buck the system in your favour.

The fact you had plenty of time knowing the takeover was coming (it would take a special yellow bus passenger to not realise it) yet didn't buy a new season ticket in the mean time knowing full well what happened in the 90's shows you up for the complete fanny you are.

Your membership grants you the square root of fuck all. It allows you to enter a ballot for a ticket. End of.

Just because you sit there with several devices and several browsers open to buy resale tickets make's you no different to those that can't do that and maybe get 3 or 4 tickets a year if their lucky.

I put you in the exact same bracket of fan as that silly cow charlotte from True Faith. "look at me, I went to the game, took an instagram pic and announced it to the world"

Your treated as a second class fan fo the final for a reason.......... You were either late to the party, You never got an invite, or You're a Johnny come lately.

Fact you never seen what was coming suggests the latter.

Little bit of advice, it's people like you that will stop the club from selling season tickets in a new 80k stadium. Why have the grief and bother of having even more fans thinking they're entitled to final tickets? When johnny knob end with a £40 membership has thrown up hundreds of complaints because he doesn't get his own way?

Lots of love from a season ticket holder that's attended every single cup game (because I'm lucky enough)

Season ticket holders have the right to buy their own seat for cup games at home, not away games or those at neutral venue.

The club have even narrowed this down a bit more with the cup scheme.

Sorry like, but those who went to cup games should be priority over those who didn’t.

For as much as you think everyone should have jumped on Baird because it was obvious the takeover was going to happen, surely 2 years after going to 1 final, being owned by owners with ambition, and the way the team has built up results, surely you could see another final was coming so therefor season ticket holders should have grabbed the earlier rounds as well?

It always amazes me on here when you get a season ticket holder kick off at non-season ticket holders, declaring themselves more loyal etc. All whilst being at the match and waving the flags. Oh yeah, do you know why they were not there for the final years of Ashley? Because many of the people back then jacked in their season tickets.

You have the East stand which is full of season ticket holders and has an atmosphere that I can only describe as what a Post Office in a Library would be like.

We can sit here all day arguing over who’s right and wrong, was walking away the right thing to do. Fact is people who are on both sides fucking love this club. We could fill Wembley twice over, and if we are going to try and give the limited amount of ticket as fairly as possible, then the people who went in the earlier rounds should be given priority over those who didn’t, season ticket or not.

Not worth arguing with an idiot Stiffy, they’ll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience

But just to avoid any confusion created by that twonk:

I’ve been going home and away since I was a teen in 1993 and had a season ticket for many years.

Not saying this to demonstrate that I’m “loyalist”, there’s thousands without ST’s who have a similar story to me

But apparently, we’re Johnny Come Lately’s who should just pay their £40 and shut the fuck up. Which is nice

Chelsea and Liverpool can both allocate more tickets to members because they don’t have many season ticket holders. If every season ticket holder took a cup final ticket they would still have 10k spare near enough. They can offer an attractive membership scheme without affecting people that go all the time. It’s not the same here.

The thinking that season ticket holders are just entitled to their own seat for 19 games a season when they’re forking out months in advance for games they have no idea what day or time they will kick off (and the cup scheme has forced them to do the same for cup games as well) is mental.
