Mad that with all the times Forest have scored first in the league.  Their only 2 losses are against us.  I suppose that is another positive to take from yesterday, despite the second half taking a bit of shine off the win.

Small sample size.  But I just checked and we have been crap at home if we concede first.  Gone on to lose to Bournemouth, Brighton and West Ham.  Where in all of those games, we seemed to run out of ideas at different points and seemed unable to break them down.  I think the only other time was against City, where we salvaged a deserved point.

Strangely, we've been better away from home when going a goal down.   I think it is 4 wins and a draw.

We're top of the chart for points won after falling behind in all PL games, and also top if you consider away games only. (4 wins 1 draw is correct.)

Not sure whether that's attributable to our resilience and fighting spirit or to carelessness early in games. Or just a meaningless statistical anomaly.

For home games only, we're a mediocre 11th -- one win (yesterday) and 2 draws (City and Liverpool.)

Wonder what the general feeling about the game is now everyone has had a chance to decompress.

It's such a big win. Hopefully that's all we'll remember and the second half performance becomes just a footnote. "Oh yeah wasn't that the game when we were weirdly shite in the second half? Now, where is the Bernabeu from here?"

the days of "it's a goal!!!!"

then you'd have to wait till they went to the ground to see if it was us them that had scored.

Class! That "It's a goal" jingle brings back memories. Can hear it vividly in my mind. The tension when you heard it was massive.

I've got it into my head that if Jacob Murphy was a bit more shithousery and had launched himself on the floor, when young Anderson "slapped" him in the face, he might have had an early bath homecoming 🤔

Looked a bit unnecessary to me. The swipe, I mean.

Ps wouldn't really have wanted that outcome, tbf.

You’re not wrong on this view.

Based on that video ? He blatantly slaps him imo.

Yeah, based on the video. I think he just brings his arm round to push him back to stop him running beyond him, but gets him in the face so it looks like a slap.

Just randomly slapping him would have been an incredibly bizarre thing to have done.

If it was virtually any other player in the league, we'd be screaming for a red. I suspect it was some sort of non malicious inside thing, because it would be too weird otherwise, but he did get lucky.

But if it was one of ours it would just be a trying to hand off sort of thing.

Try looking at it as two players you've never heard of from two teams you don't care about. No, it's not a red.

I think he's trying to slap his arm down so he can then block his run.  Just ends up slapping him in the face

I think it looks worse if you think of it as two teams you've never heard of. With no context it looks very much like he looks at him and slaps him in the face. It's only the context that makes you think it probably isn't that.

If it was Bruno you'd have people crawling on their bellies on here to bemoan how yet again he's gotten away with a red for needlessly violent conduct.

I agree with @healthyaddiction. He unnaturally looks back at Murphy before he raises his arm to clip him. If Murphy drops Brereton style, he's off.

Didnt Joelinton have one like that V Arsenal, wasn't a red either.

Anderson got roughed up a little on the day, obviously got to him

I think it happened early in the game.

He couldn’t have any complaints if he was sent off, he was helped by Murphy being honest and not falling on the floor holding his face.

Anderson had a good game though, he looks more controlled in the deeper role.

Don't remember it right now, do you mean Tottenham?  Think that one illustrates the difference - his face and body was fully turned away from the player, focused on the ball and was as much to do with the other player bending forwards and lowering his head to arm height as they both ran and tussled.

And yet Tottenham were still very very upset over the situation.

Tottenham were upset because it was against them, they'd ha e been upset had it been committed by their player and they'd been penalised for it as well, like most fans, they do t look honestly on things.

Yep.  Fair play to him, he's really developed into that role and either seems fitter or just more tactically disciplined.  Probably both.  I always thought he was a bit positionless here.  Looked like he should be playing further forward and arguably better wide.  But also not really quick enough to do it and we didn't play with a more attacking mid, number 10 type.

I know it's a different role to what he was playing in the midfield 3 here.  But I always found him a yard too slow and seemed like he was never quite there in time.  Now not only does he have the engine to get about the pitch all game.  He looks fairly quick throughout the match, as well.

He did a really good job of bracketing Salah when they played at the City Ground.  Always seemed to be back there in time to support Williams I think it was when Salah was trying to cut in.  He had one where he got back to Willock on Sunday, too.  Admittedly, he also got skinned by him a couple of times, as well and I think Willock could have bought the free kick on this run in question and he was too honest.  But he tracked him a good 50 yards to win it back.
