Joelinton should be a B, but this season alone he performs like a C.

To us when he's functioning he's a b. But I don't think he'd be a b anywhere else. He's a cog in Eddie's machine.

Yeah he’s not a B because he’s not one of the best in his position by any means. But C feels very harsh as he’s better than a “solid PL player” too in my opinion.

 

The gap between B and C is so vast, as a group looks like we’ll vote him as B- or C+ and that’s spot on IMO.

C think he was great when we played high intensity, high press a few years ago but his technical skills are fairly average.

B- for Big Joe. Think he’d be an active member of any squad in the league. Better than your average Premier League starting player.

harsh digging out but fair do's. I've posted about him elsewhere.  I love his attitude, I love his work rate, I love his smiley face as much as I loved Miggy's smiley face. I don't think he's good enough any more though, and I like what he brings to the midfield a lot of the time but I think he's too prone to losing his composure. I don't see him as a solid PL starter hence D. We don't have many better options but that doesn't move him up the rankings for me

He'd walk into mid-table/lower half teams like Fulham, Brentford, Everton, Man Utd, etc.  There's no way he's a D.

We've been turned over pretty handily by all four of those in the last few years, they're doing ok without him walking into their midfield 

 

By cf's scheme I'm OK with a D loved his redemption but he's absolutely in my Needs To Move On list

Had to give him B. I havent been on this forum all that much of late so maybe havent read everything but somewhat thrown by some of the takes on here. No he's not Viera, and yes what holds him back is a level of inconsistency, when he's a bit off it he's clumsy and prone to rash tackles, he can give away the ball way too much. However there have been more than significant periods when he has been absolutely exceptional, dominated midfields, and while his possession keeping has been poor he is tremendously important in getting the ball in awkward spots and releasing it forward in transition creating a lot of counter attacks. 

 

Most notably when he's not in the squad (or is in a bit of bad form) we are often a lot poorer as a team. Our biggest patch of struggle last season was the period he was injured. Our current slight slump guess who's not in midfield? Do I think he can be upgraded? Yes, I think we need a more technical player in the long term. Do I forsee us not wanting him in and around the squad? No chance, on form the opposition bounces off him like below.

Is this not textbook D according to cf's rating system in the op though?  Are people just rating them as if the players have just taken GCSE Being A Footballer rather than the original senses of Solid Starter C vs. Could Be Upgraded But Keep Him Around D?

 

If we're just going with a general sense of what A-E means then aye he's at least a C all day long

Hmm i thought since i rate him higher than a lot of midfielders in league was putting him in one of the best in position but that does feel generous, but solid starter at c feels low. Is inbetween

B - everyone hates playing against him and when he is out we miss him so badly by sheer force of personality. I get that he has technical limitations and is hard to put into a bracket but half the league would love to have a player like him.

Had the ‘pleasure’ of watching the game this week with two Liverpool old timers. They were as delighted Joelinton wasn’t playing as they were about Isak’s absence. They reckon he dominated/would dominate Gravenberch  (who they saw as key to the way they play).

Without the ball he’s a B. With it he’s a D. So somewhere in the middle.

Joelinton comes away with a C+ which again seems reasonable to me.

B+ for me, I still think Isak is our only genuine world class player but Sandro can definitely get to that level and is our second best player . My only criticism is he gives the ball away a bit much to be world class and it can costs us goals at times like against Fulham and Liverpool.
