Liverpool 2-0 Newcastle United - 26/02/2025

It's been a very odd game, everything has felt subdued, I don't know if it's the weather or my own apathy towards this particular fixture, but for a game under the lights at Anfield, it's felt like everyone, from players to fans, are just going through the motions.

We've not actually been that bad, we've played it around nicely at times and got into some dangerous areas, just lacking any cutting edge, and we've defended well enough, limited them to chances from range, even if it does feel like they're in second, and could score if they really wanted too.

I feel like with Joelinton, Botman and Isak we'd give these a proper game mind.

Yeah. Joelinton hasn't been great this season so don't want to do the cliche thing and overegg a missing player, but we do miss his physicality a lot of the time. He was excellent here last season too. Or the season before maybe, can't remember which.

Think I need a box of nausea pills after listening to comms. Just honestly shut the fk up you insufferable arse licking tw**s

I play some tunes, TV on mute. Some PJ Harvey, Pete and the Pirates, Laura Marling, Ween and the Lovel eggs got me through that first half.

If we can hold on until 85th minute and then manage to find an equalizer so Liverpool have very little time to find another goal we might get something here. Score too early and Liverpool will assfuck us.

But that's still 25 minutes left at Anfield?

In a game like this Bruno needs a holding/ break up player beside him. Willock is probably the worst option, he provides no protection for Bruno. As we’re not breaking in numbers and have an unfit Wilson up top Willock’s skill set is pretty redundant to make any impression.

The only time they create anything is on the counter attack, can see why we’ve held off largely.

Having the slowest centre back pairing in the league makes it even harder like.

I think BDB and Schar have had decent games here, but I really get nervous when they both push up towards the halfway line
