Cagey game, which felt pretty comfy in the main, with us being decent out of possession and breaking well, but that goal is annoying, even if it was a good move.

We haven't been decent out of position, our regaining the ball in that midfield has been rank. No pressure and aggression, too much passive play

Schar has been horrific. Getting worse by the week. A shame because he used to be class.

We can get away with his lack of pace when Botman's there, but him and Burn together is just an accident waiting to happen. And it usually does.

Burn and Schar together are total shit. Totally sick of Burn constantly being out of position. You're a central defender, stay in the middle of the pitch. I argued this last time we played Brighton also when he done virtually the same

There's a casual nature to his play that is really doing my head in.

Leaving Schar 1v1 with someone as quick as Minteh is a bigger problem than Schar's quality.

Wait, what? People are blaming Schar for that?! What is Burn doing going shit or bust trying to win the ball on the touchline 45 yards from his own goal?

Team needs to have more confidence wanting ball in tight spaces in our own half. Far too often, we only seem comfortable if it’s going more direct. Instead of getting it more in our own half to beat a press and break the lines.

Shows our limitation as a side because we then make games closer than it should be.

we were in second gear that entire half and Brighton were slack in there passing which helped us. We need to bring more energy second half as Brighton could come out with momentum on their side. That was school boy defending for their goal

I really sometimes wonder what game people are watching, in absolutely no way was that performance "pathetic", if people think it was that, they clearly haven't watched Newcastle for long

Seen more blame for Schar than anyone else aye.

Schar, Burn, Gordon were all poor.

Agree, leaving Schar isolated at CB is just asking for it.

Thought for all their pretty passing and space they were creating between the lines. It was fairly comfortable. Some

brain dead decision making and a lucky deflection got them back into it.

It is frustrating watching our team struggle to string 5-10 passes together to get upfield. When other teams regularly come to SJP and have decent possession in good areas, mind.

Another game where we take the lead and immediately fall back to defend deep, give up all initiative and aim to hit the opponent on the counter. Wish we'd just try to play the same way that got us up to 1-0 in the first place.
